We really enjoyed the hotel overall, but the check-in was ridiculously complicated. This hotel needs to fix its name listing. There is a Japaning Hotel Omiya, Japning Hotel Central Omiya, and some other Japaning Hotels all in the same area. The two I listed were 2-3 blocks from each other and it was not clear which hotel was the hotel we booked. The buildings and check in process was the same, but the buildings were run by different companies. We accidentally went to the wrong building because our Hotels.com email told us we had booked for "Grand Japaning Hotel Omiya". When we went to the building with this sign, there was no there was a pin passcode and no attendant available during the hours when there were supposed to be attendants. There was a sign saying we should call, and the telephone was missing. There was just a little phone cord in the box where the telephone should have been. I could only imagine what would have happened if I didn't have a functioning phone. Luckily, my phone did work internationally. For a very expensive rate, I spoke to a phone operator for several minutes from the proper hotel. He was able to help me figure things out and I was able to make my way to the proper hotel.
All in all, the hotel we stayed in was great and the concept was nice, but we were not impressed with the check-in instructions or building locations.
