Shame the room I had booked with a double bed was not available when I arrived, I was offered a room with 2 single beds with no alternative. That said the room was clean, however I had booked a non-smoking room and the bedding had a faint smell of stale smoke also there was an ashtray provided in the room which did not fill me with confidence that the room I was given was completely non-smoking.
So that was that a room is a room after all and as there was no alternative, it was a case of get on with it.
In fairness the staff could only do what they could do and those I met were pleasant and wished to help wherever they could. Duran was especially helpful and helped me a great deal during my stay. The food in the restaurant was acceptable and I highly recommend the mixed meat option. The breakfast was a plate of mixed olives and cheese, bread and meats with a nicely brewed tea. There were no other options and on day one it came with an omelette and day two a boiled egg, unfortunately they were under cooked in places so I could not eat them all.
The hotel was nicely situated with nice views over the sea and a short walk to the ferry terminal, bus and taxi ramps.
This is a great base to work from for the local attraction such as the Blue Mosque and the many museums. There is also shopping area just 5 mins walk from the hotel where you can buy anything you need or may want.
Watch out for the taxi driver, make sure you know the cost up front and they will take the Turk Lira.
