Disappointed by the service
We had requested an infant crib and we found it outside the room. We had to ask for sheets and blankets at the reception and install the bed ourselves. We have been to many hotels lately (some with less standing) and this was the first time the infant crib was not ready to use.

4/10 Fair

The hotel is in a good location, well maintained, very decent breakfast, however AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, either the phone in our room was not working or the front desk is too busy to answer since the same person has to work as front desk, concierge and bartender!!!!! I can’t remember the name of this chubby guy at the front desk in the afternoon of Saturday 01/21 who wears glasses and who also lacks common sense!!!! We received the worst customer service from him, very disappointed of this Hyatt, there’s tons of good hotels in Washington and to me, good customer service makes the difference, therefore I DONT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL to anyone and I will never use it again.

The Fairmont's loss is Hyatt Place's gain!
I was involved with several functions that happen every year at the Fairmont. Their in-house reservations dept is as inept as can be. I left 3 messages over as many days and nobody ever got back to me! If you want to lose customers, that's the best way. I looked around and Hyatt Place was convenient and everything I needed and then some. Oh, my two nights at your property was less than one night at the Fairmont. As I've experienced both, Hyatt is every bit as good.

The room was beautiful, clean. Bed comfortable. My only complain is the pool was freezing cold. Complained to front desk a couple of times but nothing was done. The only reason I choice that hotel was because of the pool but it was not good for swimming. My daughter was very disappointed.

6/10 Good

Disappointing....
We traveled to D.C. for a concert at the Kennedy Center New Year's Eve Cons: 1) The body wash soap dispenser in our shower was empty upon arrival. Of course we did not discovery this until we were already in the shower trying to get ready for our event. 2) I asked for a map at the front desk and suggestions for getting to the Kennedy Center. The attendant suggested that since it was rainy that we would be better off using a taxi or an UBER. We were unable to arrange for an Uber reservation because it was New Year's Eve so I asked the front desk clerk for a map and whether or not it was walkable. He took out a map and drew a line from out hotel to the Jefferson Memorial!!! NOT the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Evidently staff is not trained to know the location of key sites in Washington and there was no concierge. 3) On our checkout day (Monday), the breakfast closed at 10 and there was no coffee available after that in the lobby area for people post-breakfast. We expected better at this hotel.

Enjoyed everything about this hotel. Proximity to metro, walking distance to all the sites, restaurants. Coffee shop next door. Decent breakfast. Staff very friendly and accommodating. This is going to be my go to place when in D.C.
