Great hotel
Nice modern hotel with a great history. Room and bathroom comfortable. Very near subway that takes you to the city center in 5-7 minutes. Great breakfast buffet, but wish the restaurant wad better ventilated. After having breakfast thre all clothes have a smell of food.

Very nice big room, but the mattress was a bit hard for my taste. Nice and quiet, beautiful atmosphere and interior, and the breakfast is also worth coming back for! We went by U-Bahn to the city centre which is fast and easy, so perfect location if you come by car.

A very nice hotel. Beautiful building, nicely renovated. The room was great with a comfortable bed (and pillow). The staff was very service minded. Good, safe and free parking space. Close to the subway station to get to the city center.

Beautiful building inside and out. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was a comfort room and it was very big. The bed was super comfy and a fantastic delicious breakfast. So much choice and the scrambled eggs were delicious. The subway is a few mins walk and gets you everywhere easily. We found the subway easy to get around. From the airport you need the green line (S1) and change at central to the red (U2) to the hotel. Easy! You can buy a group pass for up to 5 people for 13 euros. Hamburg is a brilliant city

The BEST in CLASS in Hamburg!
If I could I would give the Hotel Volksschule a 100/10 star rating. The hotel is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Each and every staff member from Dominik at the front desk to the staff at breakfast do their part to make your stay exceptional. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. This was so comforting to me, as I was traveling from the US, and am not proficient in German, yet the staff helped me out with everything I needed from navigating the metro to ordering takeout on an app. The common areas of the hotel allow for nice socialization either in the bar area or outside at the tables. It did not matter the time of day of when I needed something, there was always a staff member to provide assistance in a welcoming and charming way. I wish I could take the staff home with me as they were THAT GOOD! I highly recommend the Hotel Volksschule without reservation. Also hats off to the decor team - every detail has a purpose -quite whimsy and pleasant. You get to test your math skills on the clocks! FUN!

Bästa läget i Hamburg. Lätt och smidigt att ta sej till med bil. Väl där kan bilen stå då tunnelbanan går både västerut och österut med 2 hållplatser nära. Rent och fräscht, trevlig personal och mycket bra frukost. Bokar alltid detta hotell i december för julmarknaderna och shopping.

Schönes Zimmer mit Backsteinwänden, großen Fenstern und schöner Ausstattung. Kostenfreier Parkplatz direkt am Haus. U-Bahn "Rauhes Haus" und Bus in wenigen Minuten fußläufig erreichbar. Direkt gegenüber gibt es auch einen Supermarkt. Zimmer mit kleinem, aber sehr gutem Kühlschrank. Leider keine Klimaanlage. Es war überwiegend sehr sauber, nur der Staub unterm Bett wurde bei offenem Fenster hervor geweht, da müsste öfter gewischt werden. Der Schreibtisch ist aus Metall, was ich als eher unangenehm empfunden habe, weil die Haut bei Kontakt immer nach Eisen gerochen hat. Tolles Bad mit Regendusche und hervorragendem Wasserdruck. Nur der Platz an der Toilette ist etwas eng, weil man direkt vor der Duschkabine sitzt. Das Highlight war für mich das Frühstück. Das gibt es bis mindestens 11 Uhr und bietet eine riesige Auswahl inkl. Rührei und Frühlingsröllchen. Nur die Brötchen waren recht trocken. Tische wurden nach jedem Gast abgewischt, fehlende Speisen wurden zügig nachgefüllt. Ich würde definitiv wieder hier übernachten.
