Nice old hotel but lacking in condition of rooms
Staff very friendly, lobby area very nice, excellent breakfast with plenty of space in dining area. Understand it is an old hotel, but the rooms very small and smell bad. No water pressure and bathroom is tiny. The room was not very clean and we had a blanket with stains on it and it was replaced. Lobby area and outside deceiving as to condition of rooms.

Nostalgic Hotel
Throw back to the 1970s which was ok. A little smell when you first enter room but it quickly went away. I think it was like a wood smell since there is paneling on the walls. A little dusty but overall a comfortable and clean stay. Would stay here again. Very convenient to all of the activities and stores. Didn’t need to move car until we left.

Girls Trip
It's been there since 1937..but we absolutely loved it! So laid back! There was music on the beautiful front entrance one night and cloggers the next. The bed are very comfy and the breakfast was amazing. Also, its centrally located so you can walk everywhere. We walked as far as the moonshine coaster..its better than sitting in traffic! When we parked on Friday we didn't get ba k in the car til we left on Sunday! I will never stay anywhere but here.

Very comfortable in perfect position in Gatlinburg
A lovely historic hotel which is perfectly placed in Gatlinburg. Our balcony overlooked the Skylift, which was an added bonus. Our bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast each day was always home made and tasty. Shame about single use plastic cutlery but the cups were sustainable, so hopefully recyclable. Room soundproofing could be better but appreciate the age of the building. We'd definitely stay again.

Great staff, very clean just has a bad odor
This hotel have the best staff, they are so kind, hard working, and attentive. The breakfast is amazing! The hotel is exceptionally clean, however the smell/odor is just too strong. It is an old house, musky smell that hits you as soon as you walk in the lobby and into your room then even home with you. It’s very strong and can be aggravating, especially when the hotel is so well kept and cozy. We would love to stay here again but we know we will never be able to due to being sensitive with allergies etc that the “old musky” smelll is just too much.

The hotel is quirky all the furniture is old, which is in keeping with the hotel it is a historic hotel after all, the bathroom had been renovated and was very nice, the bed seemed quite new and was comfortable, the room had a musty smell which I think was from the carpet. Over all it was ok for our one night stay
