Loved staying at The Axle 2 Hotel, great staff, super friendly & helpful, great hotel & pool. We were a bit it early in the season so the roof top pool was a plus but not enough umbrellas for the early heat we were experiencing, also the halls had a particular smell they should address, over all a great stay, conveniently located to all the sites of Barcelona , extremely gay friendly hotel, will absolutely stay again!

I was surprised at how queer positive it was. Thought it was just an adult’s only hotel. It’s awesome that places like that exist. The staff were super nice and helpful, the pool was nice and I enjoyed the sauna. Had the breakfast once and it was really good and worth getting. Met people from around the world and had a wonderful time. Additionally it’s close to the metro and from there you can get to most places in the city

The staff were fantastic, and even though my spanish was not great, they were very accomodating. My wife and I are a queer couple and were looking for a place in Barcelona, and this was a good choice. They were very respectful towards us and the guy at reception was super friendly and even spoke a little Finnish. Although we are a queer couple, we saw a lot of straight hotel guests staying there, and it was a very inclusive place and a fun environment. We will be coming back again soon!

I stayed in a city view room with a big window that opened towards the street. The bathroom toilet has a frosted swing door and shower has a clear glass swing door. Not private, just fyi if you’re going with a partner or other. AC was cold, but could have been colder. Rooftop pool and steam room were great! Close to markets, restaurants and metro.

Positives: The front desk staff was very welcoming to my partner and me, offering great dining tips. The buffet breakfast was good. The location is excellent—steps from local gay nightlife, a sauna, metro stations, and Montjuïc. It is a good setup for gay men looking to meet. Negatives: I booked the entry-level city room but expected much more for what we paid. There was no view except a kiddie park, so we kept the curtains closed, making the room feel tight. There is zero privacy due to a glass door and a window between the bedroom and bathroom. Even with a towel up, you are completely visible from the bed due to the mirrors. We had to use the rooftop pool bathroom for basic privacy. Upon arrival, the safe was broken and the TV was disconnected, forcing us to wait for maintenance. We were given an accessible room though we didn't need one, meaning the open shower next to the toilet soaked the entire bathroom floor and toilet paper. The pool deck is also worn out and needs a fresh coat of stain. Strangely, over half the Sunday guests in late September were straight couples who seemed clueless that this was an LGBTQ+ hotel. While the hotel has commendable signs about diversity and "good vibes only," the employee who served my coffee shockingly used a homophobic slur against me. He did.

The room was okay overall, and the hotel’s amenities were good. However, I had a very concerning experience with my luggage. When I arrived, I left my bags at reception and clearly asked for them to be stored until the official check-in time. When I returned, the staff member could not locate them. A few minutes later, I received a call explaining that they had made a mistake and another guest had taken my luggage to the airport. Fortunately, that guest agreed to return and exchange the bags, but this situation should never have happened in the first place. There are certainly many handsome men around the hotel, but I hope the staff can remain focused on their responsibilities and on properly taking care of guests’ belongings.
