I recently stayed at the Nester Finn Hotel in New York. Overall, the staff was kind and welcoming throughout my stay. The location is decent and convenient enough, though I would not say it is the best area to stay in when visiting NYC.
That said, there were a few important issues that left me disappointed. The rooms are not well maintained, and the hotel photos are quite misleading. The pictures make the rooms look bright and full of natural light while in reality my room was very dark.
The most concerning situation happened when I returned to my room one evening and found my door open. Thankfully nothing was stolen, but this raises a serious security concern, especially when guests have valuables inside their rooms. The front desk employee was very kind and assured me that management would contact me after checkout. It has now been a week and I still have not received any apology, explanation, or follow-up from management regarding how this could have happened.
I wanted to share this honestly because while parts of the experience were pleasant, the lack of follow-up on such a serious issue was disappointing.
