10/10 Excellent
"My partner and I were impressed with the room.and facilities. When I reported a light bulb needed replacing it was speedily done. The only slight negative point was the rather steep walk up to the house. This was no problem for us but obviously could be for someone with mobility problems. Having said that, it is possible to drive up to the door through a narrow entrance, deposit your luggage and then drive back down to park elsewhere. All in all we were very pleased with the accommodation and attention from our host."

The Sleeping Giant - Pen Y Cae Inn

The Sleeping Giant - Pen Y Cae Inn

8/10 Good
"Lovely modern room in a quiet village very close to the Four Waterfalls Walk. The room was modern and clean and the super king size bed very comfy! We had the room with the freestanding bath (bubbles supplied!) and there were plenty of towels. The air con/heating was fast and easy to control and there were modern light switches everywhere to find the right lighting. The large TV came out on an arm so you could see it from the bed and had some apps on it which allowed us to watch a film (although it did buffer a few times) kettle and water supplied in room but no fridge facility although the pub was happy to give us an ice bucket and glasses. The bathroom was modern and clean but the door was a bit stiff so you really had to yank it shut. Plenty of storage facilities in the room if you were staying for more than one night. The pub next door was delicious for both breakfast and dinner and very reasonably priced. Warm cosy atmosphere and lovely staff. Would go back if visiting the area again! Thank you"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Swansea

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly times to visit Swansea are January, February, and December, when hotel prices are generally lower. For those looking to explore the city's rich history and culture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During your visit, you can discover landmarks such as the marina, the historic castle, and various museums. Additionally, you might enjoy the vibrant atmosphere created by the friendly locals, the small-town charm, art festivals, and the lively university scene. This itinerary offers great value for money, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in Swansea's cultural offerings while staying on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: For travellers heading to Swansea, Hotels.com offers attractive hotel deals. Explore the DealsOpens in a new window section to discover special offers, and check the Last-Minute Deals area for opportunities to secure a room close to your arrival date. Additionally, you may enable email alerts or push notifications to receive updates on flash sales. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to spot a desirable last-minute getaway if rooms become available or prices drop.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates might help you find a better deal on your stay in a hotel in Swansea. For those in search of distinctive experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you make your booking through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more economical, assisting you in your search for a great deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Swansea's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further out that remains well connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods, or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often considerable value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
