I really enjoyed visiting Jakarta Kota Tua (old Batavia). Some great museums where you learn the history. The old buildings are well maintained.

Indonesians are all friendly and willing to help. Customer service is first-rate all over the city. It is a big city with traffic jams, so we change hotel every 2-3 days to go around Jakarta. Be aware of the humidity and heat!

For foreigners not used to the tropical heat, it's better to stay inside rather than venturing out after 11 am. My elderly mom fainted during a morning walk of less than 1km to a nearby local market from the hotel. Area is also not walk-friendly.

Too crowded! Bad traffic and takes hours to reach most destinations even though they've modern Intrafracture. Narrow roads and traffic make it not walkable. Not enjoyable city.

If Jakarta didn't close off its beaches and had parks it would be an attractive city to visit.
"Lovely rooms I had , upgraded, my room key packed in after one day annoying but got sorted quickly, breakfast was okay but I travelled alone , so every time I went from my table they kept taking my coffee away, had to keep ordering a new one 😬 but generally it was a nice place "
"Great hotel well placed Disappointed that it was being used as a training camp for a junior football team which meant the inside gym was unusable at times Children playing on electronic devices should be banned from dining areas ! "
"From a swift check-in to an efficient checkout, everything went smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade. The package included both dinner and breakfast — the breakfast, in particular, was impressive with a wide variety of options.
What truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality. Every staff member was friendly, courteous, and always smiling, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Although the hotel itself shows signs of age, the quality of service more than made up for it.
Highly recommended for a comfortable and memorable stay!"
