Well renovation far to modern,things were leaking ,shower in two rooms.Very noisy from early morning double glazing didnt do much.Went to bar had to knock ,still couldn't get in some one inside turned off lights ,this was hour before closing time.Man on desk took little interest and just said it was open.Clearly not after three attempts gave up !

The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was roomy and comfortable. The breakfast is great with lots of choices and very accommodating service. | The location is perfect, very close to Campo de'i Fiori. If you have a drink on the Campo de' Fiori, go to Il Nolano,named after Giordano Bruno, whose statue graces the square. There's a cool book store on the square, Fahrenheit 451, where you can buy tee-shirts bearing his image and learn his fascinating story. A few doors from there is the family run Antica Hostaria Romanesca, which has great food and fewer tourists than the other restaurants on the Campo. Hotel Smeraldo has a rooftop bar. A great place to have a drink and survey the city. In my opinion, Hotel Smeraldo should be everyone's first choice in Rome.
