The attitude of the staff is not appropriate for a four-star hotel. The room is very basic and in our case, it was not quiet either (even though we specifically asked for a quiet room). It's a road hotel and not a vacation hotel.

The room was small, the AC did not work well. There was little storage for clothing. The counter to work on was very small. Pillows were flat as pancakes. Towels were small. The counter space in the bathroom was almost nonexistent.

The information on Hotels.com that all suites have a river view is incorrect. Our allocation was a view of the car park and a building opposite. The ‘accessible’ room provided had a wet room with excellent view of the toilet from the bed. Possibly provided because of a company event taking over. The smaller room that we were reallocated had excellent views across the river and was very comfortable. When a new river view suite was available, that was excellent, spacious and worth moving again for. The restaurant was expensive and the food was average, although the service was excellent, I cannot recommend it. My biggest criticism is the ridiculous deposit/freeze of £600 on my credit card, for a stay of two nights, way more than anywhere else on our trip across Europe! The location was great, the hotel a little worn but excellent, the service good and I would stay again.

The room was not well equipped. There was only hand soap, no shower gel or shampoo. There were also no bathrobes or amenities. When calling reception we were told that we have to come downstairs and get the missing items ourselves. Totally unacceptable at these prices. When giving this as feedback upon check out only a not very heartfelt apology was given. Disappointing.
