My hotel room was booked on Hotels.com. When I checked in I paid for the room, as well as a $50 deposit with a debit card ($370.92). After waiting about 10 minutes I was informed that the payment did not through "on their end". However, the payment was debited from my checking account, and I gladly shared evidence of this transaction with hotel staff. I was informed that it was OK and I went to my room to nap. Shortly thereafter the staff knocked on my door and informed that I had in fact not paid for the room, and in order to stay there I would have to come back to the front desk and pay again. This time I paid with a credit card, though I again showed the staff that my original payment was still debited from my checking account. I was told that my credit card payment "went through" and my checking account would be refunded from my initial payment when I checked out. However, my checking account was NOT refunded at that time, and now 48 hours later it has yet to be refunded. I have stayed at Hiltons often and have never had a complaint, though Hilton Garden Inn Granbury is clearly not managed as well their other properties. I am working with my bank in an attempt to get my account refunded, and will never patronize this hotel again.
