Expect To Be On You’re Own
The building is very historic room was nice and big, but other than this, there’s not much to recommend about this place. The front desk doesn’t open until noon (or sometimes later, no advanced warning on that), and if you need anything during the non-open Times, they give you a phone number to call. We noticed that there were no towels in the room, so I had to call that number since no one was around that morning. I got them pretty quickly, I suspect someone from their sister property, the much nicer Sadie’s By The Sea, brought them over. There is no reception on Sundays, non although they were supposed to open at noon on Saturday, there were two travelers sitting outside with their bags who were told by the cook (the only employee on the property) that reception opened at three. As for housekeeping, forget about it. We got bare bones service once, probably because our Samoan friend “lit a fire” under them. We weren’t totally shocked by all of this, as since we used to live here, we know this is “Fa’a Samoa”, the Samoan way. I think the first two nights, we were the only guests here. How this place survives, especially with times with no staff available to sell rooms to walkups, I don’t know. Seriously, a person could die in the room and it could be a few days before anyone would know. Not nearly worth the $100 a night - definitely opt for the nearby Sadie’s By The Sea instead.
