On the plus side, the staff was absolutely wonderful, the breakfast was good, and the pool and beach area was a wonderful place to relax. The room itself and bed was comfortable albeit a bit dated. I would definitely return again, perhaps with a bit more time to enjoy all of the beauty the area has to offer. On the less than positive side, the Movenpick was clearly a top tier property in its day, but it is still suffering from some adverse impacts from a cyclone a few years back. The beach club is closed and doesn't look close to opening, much of the property has boarded up windows, and there is a mildew smell in the halls.

First, they surprised us by offering us an unexpected room upgrade - a full ocean view on the 18th floor with a beautiful beach and of course Bohol Island in the far distance. The staff was friendly and courteous, and they were quick to respond to our requests. The breakfast buffet was a delight with a wide variety of items to choose from. The fact that there were so many nice restaurants and spas around the hotel also excited us. Unfortunately, several groups were staying here, and a few of them were very ill-mannered and unpleasant, but that was not the hotel's fault. We would visit here again when Ibiza Beach Club re-opens.
