Family Thanksgiving vacation. I was concerned at first because this is an expensive hotel….plus they charge &18.35 per day parking plus a $40 plus tax per day resort fee. Food is not cheap either. If you can get past that, you will love this place. Tons of activities for kids, great fitness center, horse back riding, trails, free bikes to ride, outdoor courts for basketball, pickle ball, golf. The staff is outstanding across the board. The only complaint was we had a noisy water system near the shower that made it difficult to sleep the second night. Overall, I would go back and stay here.

6/10 Good

Roach in our room
We booked a 3-night stay to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, the property appeared clean and in good condition. After parking our car, we went to our room to unpack and noticed a large, crawling cockroach on the floor. We immediately grabbed our belongings and headed downstairs to request a new room. They upgraded our room to a junior suite, but we were still a bit on edge and grossed out. Luckily we didn’t find anymore roaches in our new room. While visiting the property, we ate at all of the restaurants. The food was tasty, but incredibly expensive. They have a coffee shop/convenient store downstairs with any items you may have forgotten. We played pickle ball and tennis, and all of the equipment was provided. Overall, it was a nice stay (minus the roach, of course), but we probably wouldn’t return.

A Destination Resort, not a motel
This is a large facility with its own riding trails, water park, hiking and biking, multiple restaurants, golf course, tennis courts, movies, special events, and much more. Probably anything you could want. Of course, it is expensive as a resort and spa, and you should think of it as your destination, not as your overnight stay. The included breakfast is luxurious. The multiple restaurants are overpriced for what you get, so make your breakfast your main meal - it is abundant enough to do so comfortably. The service staff is extraordinarily helpful and friendly. It's a 10.

8/10 Very good

The property was very nice and well kept. We saw many workers taking care of the outdoor areas. We did enjoy the Lazy River, but our 8 and 9 year old grandkids expected a bigger slide and a deeper pool to swim in. I was put off by the fact that someone had to call front desk to have the slide open. Everything I read up to arrival indicated it opened at 10. Had to wait for dinner at Stellar…once seated we quickly made our choice of an appetizer and our entrees. Waitress never checked to see if our entree arrived or if we needed anything else. I grabbed a manager and told him we needed our appetizer before our meal. As we are eating our appetizer, our entrees arrived and everyone who came to the table wanted to take our entree. I had to get firm to them. The appetizer was removed from our check. It appeared they could not accommodate very many people at once. We decided to order pizza from Bastrop the next day. We did spend a lot of money…but I guess the memories we made are worth it.

4/10 Fair

The place is pretty and the rooms are nice, but it was so overpriced, and they charge for everything! If they are going to charge that much, the service needs to be excellent, which it is not. Everyone was in training and the wait so were long.
