Penthouse Amenities
The location was great, the staff was accommodating, and the room was bright and inviting. The jetted tub was a huge disappointment as it did not work. The staff did offer to come and fix it but it was too late, it’s one of the reasons why we booked the penthouse, so these things should be a priority for these premier rooms. The construction made the room noisy, but the ceiling fan needed a bearing replaced which made this noisy as well

Unnecessary actions before returning my deposite..
The staff were very understanding but minus the check out when they physically had to go and check my room before i had gotten my deposite back and i felt that was an act of pregigistness and felt very offended personally thankx much ......

Lots of hidden fees
The location is great. However, We requested a crib with the booking. When we arrived we were told we could have a crib only if no other rooms have it in use and its $10 per night what a rip off. Other hotels dont charge for this. Since we have a baby we kind of need the crib we requested it. After 3 times of asking it was finally brought to our room right at babies bed time. The crib was in disgusting condition it looked like another kid had puked all over the side of it and was stained. Parking is a rip off at $45 per night. There is a public lot one block away for $10 a night so we parked there.

Avoid this Hotel!
Poor / no heating in rooms, outdated rooms, smelly bathroom. Towels smell grouse too!

There is a massive construction site right in front of the hotel and the noise level is incredibly high. It'll go on for at least a few months. There is no sound-proofing in the rooms and the machines and bulldozers start very early in the morning. I was at level-3 and my room was facing the construction site. I requested a room on a higher floor (I was on 3rd floor) to potentially reduce the noise but I was told the hotel was fully booked. They make the balcony sound like a charm, but trust me, you can not use it even one bit because of all the noise. I've made videos but can't post them here. I will lodge a formal complaint because they make you pay through tooth and nail but do not provide the necessary comfort. Location is good. Access is easy. There is a car rental counter next to reception.

An experience of minimums
Cramped and dark was given a kitchenette room but with all the power and access turned off. However were still to re wash glasses and coffee cups our self. No ice avalable. The free breakfast was a minimal continental with stock keep to a minimum. Took $ 100 deposit and charged for the room to card immediately but said deposit may not be returned for upto 6 days. Reason due to international currency exchange. This was a canadian bank card I Canada. Do not ho here there has to be better customer service somewhere.

Very Very Loud And HOT!
It's a good thing I went on the actual Rivera's website to explain the deposit, and the information about the construction. This is an old hotel with single - pane glassWhile it is in a Great location, and it is spacious, it is extremely loud because the construction goes on from 7;30 am to 4:40 pm and it is LOUD. Also, after the construction is over, you can hear all the cars, sirens, people talking, etc. My room was incredibly hot, and there was not a thermostat to turn it off. In fact, the maintenance person said the only way to turn it off is by turning all the rooms' heaters off on that side of the room. My room had no ac, so I had to keep the windows open, so it was even louder. There was a message on the phone, and when I called the front desk to clear it, because a blinking red light would keep me awake, they told me to just unplug the phone. Wrong answer since i did not have cell service. Overall, it was an ok experience, it was clean and it is in a good location. It is an old building with no insulation, single pane glass and it is LOUD. The construction does not help.
