Venture into a fairy tale as medieval towers rise above cobblestone streets in the UNESCO-listed Old Town. Climb Toompea Hill for views that explain why locals never tire of their skyline. The Estonian Maritime Museum's Seaplane Harbour houses submarines in massive hangars that once sheltered seaplanes. Hipsters have transformed the former factory district of Kalamaja into a playground of craft breweries and art spaces. After exploring Gothic churches, refuel at a cellar tavern where servers in medieval costume serve hearty stews. The city embraces its digital future while preserving its Hanseatic past – you can vote online but still buy handicrafts from artisans using centuries-old techniques.
"The location was good.
Near the old town, some tram stations and a bus station I didn’t use.
It’s situated above a shopping mall with a food court which was a nice touch.
The breakfast was good and there’s plenty of seating.
The staff is also very helpful for tourists."
"Really enjoyed my stay at Citybox Tallinn. I booked a single room which was compact, but very clean and thoughtfully designed. The whole hotel felt modern, functional and well maintained. I particularly appreciated the ironing room and the shared kitchen/canteen area, which were very handy during my stay. Check-in was incredibly easy and quick using my passport.
The location is excellent. It's just a short walk from the ferry terminal, right next to the Rotermann Quarter, and only about 10 minute walk to Tallinn's Old Town, making it a great base for exploring the city.
One thing to note is that my single room didn't have a TV (I'm not sure about other room types but I was aware of this when booking), but I didn't really miss it. The hotel has more of a high-quality hostel feel, with a self-service approach: rooms aren't cleaned daily and you need to request fresh towels if needed. Personally, I found this perfectly fine and appreciated the flexibility.
Overall, excellent value, great location and a clean, comfortable stay. I'd happily stay here again."

Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Tallinn is between January and March, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For an enriching experience, it is recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days to fully appreciate the city's historical landmarks, cultural institutions, and artistic offerings. During your visit, you can explore fascinating museums, impressive monuments, and delightful dining options that showcase the local culture. This timeframe offers great value for money, allowing you to immerse yourself in Tallinn's rich heritage without breaking the bank.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Tallinn, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options available. This way, if prices drop or rooms become available, you'll be among the first to know for your spontaneous getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could enable you to save on your stay in a hotel in Tallinn. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and occasionally represent better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher end, we will suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you secure a better deal.

For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
