Pretty property but services overstated. None of the staff spoke English. They were unable to process credit cards but didnt tell us that when we checked in. Had to walk all over town looking for ATM to check out. Person in room under us had TV full volume until after midnight. Called front desk they did not address the situation. They seemed understaffed. Restaurant was not great.

Don’t stay here!
Very poorly maintained hotel; towels with holes in, handles that fell off drawers when you opened them, blankets as heavy as carpets, receptionists that were cold minimally helpful and sometimes stern - very unfriendly. A beautiful building, but a disastrously run hotel. Don’t stay there.

had a twin not the double we had ordered, restaurant was out of a lot of the choices, the style was antiquated which is nice, but everything seemed very tired, plumbing was smelly, the restaurant and foyer decor was really good.

Nothing good about this hotel
1st room with foul, mold smell. 2nd room bathroom fixtures leaked, night lamp not working, no elevator for suitcases, parking too tight, on Monday no restaurant service, breakfast too expensive for eggs bread coffee and pastries. Tv with a column in the middle of the screen for your enjoyment.

Hidden treasure
An unexpected and fabulous surprise nestled in the heart of Carmona. Definitely going to be our new bolthole each time we pass. Always subjective, but this shabby grandiose palace was absolutely perfect for us.

A really characterful place to stay. A great location and one of the most unusual I have stayed at. Faded grandeur sums it up; it may not to be everyone's taste, but it had charm and comfort in spadefuls.

A faded quirky gem, lousy staff
The hotel itself is absolute bonkers, feels and looks like Addams family holiday home, so if you like quirky (and we do), you can’t go wrong. It’s full of wonderful nooks and crannies, and hidden gardens, a joy to explore! In terms of hospitality and comfort, don’t expect too much. We were greeted (an overstatement of the year) by a grumpy man who led us up the steep flight of stairs pointedly ignoring the fact that we were struggling with our luggage. Peeling paint in the room, tired fixtures... still, we were hooked on the quirky vibe and (as I caught a bit of cold and could do with extra day of rest) wanted to spend another night. But the person at reception said indifferently that they were fully booked, although the booking sites showed availability. That did it for us, and we moved 90 yards to another hotel, Alcázar de la Reina and were better off for it!

Quaint and friendly
This was a last minute booking due to some issues with other accommodation. The place is fantastic. Felipe the Mgr. was the friendliest and most accommodating individual you could find. All his recommendations and suggestions were spot on. The place itself is an older home that has been converted and is the most charming place you could ever think of. Well worth the stay.

A shabby chic hotel in the heart of Carmona
A lovely hotel that unfortunately is a little on the "shabby chic" side. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous but the little details - paint chipped and peeling in places, the towel rack a bit broken, could do with a bit of TLC. The service was great - the staff were very helpful and spoke great English.

Wonderful stay in a Spanish palace
An amazing night in the middle of the hot month of August. A totally unique place and a charming host. I can highly recommend the hotel and Carmona is well worth a visit.

Excellent hotel near Seville
We stayed at Casa de Carmona for 2 nights so that we could make day trips to Seville (about 30 minutes away). The hotel is more like a big country house, where you are made to feel very welcome by the owner, Felipe, and his staff. We were shown to our spacious room which had a living area, large bed on a mezzanine floor and huge bathroom. Anna served us a made-to-order breakfast each day and we had a fabulous meal in the restaurant (Gracia Real) which used to be the stables. It was a delight to be able to walk directly from the breakfast room (Loggia) straight in to the small outdoor pool with its 3 fountains. There are lots of spaces in Casa de Carmona where you can have your own privacy and relax, and where you can stay very cool despite the high temperatures outside. Carmona is a beautiful quiet little town with lots of interesting narrow streets, town square and an amazing Roman Necropolis. If you are looking for a big brand name hotel with each room identical to the next, which I always think is a bit sterile, then Casa de Carmona is not for you. However, if you are looking for something a little bit different, with lots of character, in a 16th century beautiful building, and with staff offering very personal attention then I would highly recommend this amazing hotel.

Not a Parador But Charming
Our stay at the Casa de Carmona was by accident! We thought we were booking rooms in Seville which were close to the Cathedral & the Alcazar but out GPS guided us to the ancient town of Carmona some 30 km from Seville. Carmona does indeed have it's own cathedral & alcazar & we found both the town & the hotel to be quite charming. The Casa de Carmona is old & in need of some repairs but our beds were comfortable & the towels & linens were very fine! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by Willem and we felt like we were noblemen being served in a castle. The wifi only works in one sitting room and we didn't see the price of the breakfast listed anywhere, but all in all we had a good stay!

Charm of a bygone era.
The Casa De Carmona was once a Spanish home of some grand style and this is reflected within its walls today. The rooms are like grand old ladies - past their prime but with still so much to offer. Many of the rooms open onto an internal courtyard where there is a swimming pool and lovely old plants offering a safe haven for twittering birds to congregate. The furnishings are chosen to suit the era of the hotel and we found ourselves to be very comfortable during our stay. It is our preference to chose properties with individual character rather than hotels that offer all the amenities but lack individuality.

Beautiful hotel, but misleading rates
This was a gorgeous hotel in a beautiful Spanish city. Unforunately, I feel cheated by the booking. I made the booking in a hurry at the Madrid airport. I did a search on hotels near Seville for 4 people. This hotel popped up, at a rate of $128 in red. It had good ratings, so I quickly made the booking. What I failed to notice was that there was an additional charge of over $140, more than doubling the $128. I complained to Hotels.com and was told that this was due to a charge for an extra person! This is garbage! If I do a search on hotels for four people, I expect to see the rates for four people! While the hotel was beautiful, I would never knowingly pay the rate that I was harged and would look elsewhere.
