8/10 Very good

Quiet accommodations in a beautiful setting
The hotel is a little bit difficult to find since it is outside of town on a poorly marked street. The benefit of the location is that it's very quiet, and you have a wonderful view of the stars. There are also many plants on the property, a big change from the desert area it's in. There are several outdoor seating areas where you can enjoy the landscaping.
We had one of the quiet rooms with a beautiful view of a courtyard with old trees. (Other rooms are in a building with a shared recreation area.) The trees provide fruits and nuts that are used by the kitchen and as folk remedies.
The manager is extremely outgoing. She gave us a tour of the whole area and told us about the history of the hotel, all the plants growing around it, the cats and dogs who live there, and the sites around San Pedro de Atacama.
The breakfast buffet is limited to cold foods, but OK. We also had dinner one night. It was a set menu (no choices) of local foods, some of which were grown on the property.
