This hotel has a great location, the staff is super friendly! You got to keep in mind there are some places nearby that play music a little loud at night, so maybe bring some earplugs. Other than that, I totally recommend this place.

Helpful kind staff, our window would not lock & they changed us to a room that had a working window lock without a problem. In a great area if you want to explore the bars & clubs nearby. They have a small gated parking area we had to leave the keys with the front desk in case they had to move it to let another car out. Very clean & good toiletries! Would come back for sure! ◡̈

The hotel looks like a construction site. It may be a nice place to stay in the future when they finish all the work.

Thin walls and the music from the bars around there is really loud. The room flooded during the rain and smelled like mold, no door on the toilet room, nor shower door, even though shows hinges on the glass. I pointed out those problems to the owners and they don’t seem to care and what really bothers me was… THEY DIDN’T EVEN APOLOGIZE!.. they are arrogant and they don’t care if you have an issue with the place. They will take your money and pretty much laugh on your face….. there are other options near there. Don’t do the same mistake I did. Stay somewhere else, where you will be comfortable and appreciate it.

I have stayed at this hotel for 7 years and it seems to me that it has been neglected over time, there is no attention to detail and they have made remodeling that worsens the lodging, the very small bathrooms, there is nowhere to hang the towels, missing shelves, the reservation was for four people but they only put two glasses. And so many details. It's a shame because it was a good place to stay.

This hotel is a disgrace. I rarely make bad reviews, but this hotel deserves it. The room was dirty with old stained carpet, holes in the walls, missing light fixtures and broken faucets… The worse is the shower: rust and mold and no hot water. My wife and I left and book a room at Demetria hotel: same price, clean, great service, beautiful hotel. Casa Monraz should be ashamed to charge so much to have people shower in a filthy shower.

This place is unfinished. Everything is wrong with this place. They don’t have a payment system in place, it’s dirty and poorly designed. They’re doing renovations so it’s loud and messy everywhere. I asked to change rooms and they suggested a room without door! Unbelievable. Fortunately the owner was gracious enough to move me to a different hotel. These “boutique” hotels in general are a joke but this one In particular shouldn’t be listed in the first place.

Great stay in Guadalajara
The hotel was very charming . A library, bar and cafe. Service was available and the on site bakery/coffee bar was a lifesaver. The room was very comfortable and the bed amazing! The location is in a very lively part of colonial Americana district surrounded by restaurants and many late night clubs and other conveniences. Not the most quiet on Fri/Sat night - but did not bother me. The property is gated and there is someone in the lobby area all night. I felt safe and comfortable in the hotel and area. I look forward to coming back.

4/10 Fair

The location and curb appeal cannot be denied. It is in a popular part of the city with many restaurants, bars, and a popular street for walking and strolling. Its curb appeal is also alluring as it an historic building with all of its original arcitecture and lovely outdoor seating with a cared for garden. The staff, although polite and nice, did not fulfill our requests when we first arrived and saw the room. And this is where the THUMBS DOWN begins. Everything charming about the exterior is completely lost when walking through the hallways to the room. We stayed in a bigger room with 2 full beds. Although quiet, it showed signs of neglect and half-hazard maintenance at every corner. Worst part was the configuration of the shower. It was located on the OUTER part of the room where we have to step FROM THE SHOWER TO THE BEDROOM rather than it being enclosed with the toilet, sink, and tiny mirror. There was nothing comfortable about that! The walls, decor, flooring just showed so much neglect and yuckiness - as if things repaired were done so with no care or thought for how they would clearly show. The only upside to the room were the clean soft sheets and pillows. They were the only thing that felt "BOUTIQUE" in the Davini Suite. The reviews on Expedia were most deceitful as I based my booking on what others said and the star rating. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you truly want "boutique". Unfortunately.
