Key Card Issues
We encouraged other family members from out of town to stay at the Hampton Inn. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. On our last night, our room key, along with 3 others, was mysteriously deactivated. With our rooms on the 4th floor, one family member for each room went back to the lobby for a new key. Two members encountered a staffer who refused to provide a new key because their name wasn't on the reservation even though they could provide ID with the same address as the guest on file. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience. While many staff were friendly and courteous during our stay, the last night was bad. Not a good impression for our out of state families.

I liked how close it was to the concert venue I was attending. However the room walls are very thin and I could hear everyone. Not to mention a yelling match in the parking lot at 4 in the morning. Bed was comfy for a hotel. My biggest complaint is Travelocity said I would be paying about $211 for my room and I was charged $302. I paid thinking that there was a room deposit in there but I don’t think there was. I do feel kind of scammed I this aspect

(1) not being able to check in til 3 when checkout is at 11 is insane. (2) I have never EVER seen a hotel require one to sign a 2pg document upon checking that is obviously a result of foolishness from other guests. Deal with the problem guests; don’t insult all of with their mess. Not even the hotels around Times Square do this! Calling those charges (anticipated vandalism or theft) “incidentals” is a joke to anyone who knows what “incidentals” really are. (3) The breakfast bar having no meat is loony. Bacon should be a staple. (4) the fire alarm being triggered because of (front desk said someone’s bathroom and it’s not unusual??) is wild. (5) I was on 4th floor and the room was nice! But the soft in level spots in the floor all down the hallway is an invitation to litigation. Older people or those with canes could easily trip and fall. This is plant maintenance 101.

The girl at the front desk was neither informative nor overly friendly..she should reconsider front desk service.. we were also disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance. The breakfast would also be better if they had sausage instead of Canadian bacon not the best breakfast meat. Other than that the hotel was decent.

Overall stay was pleasant and comfortable. Except for two disappointing experiences. We had booked two separate rooms. At check in time we asked for both rooms side by side or at least on same floor. we were refused on the basis that we booked via third party. I was surprised with the reason since it did not make any sense. But I choosed not to argue. Secondly, one of the room only had one chair to sit. I requested if they could arrange for one additional chair in the room of 3 occupants. Our request was simply denied as the hotel did not have even one spare chair to accomodate my request. Very disappointing
