Top Hotel
This is actual going to be two reviews. I booked a room with the Residence Inn for a king bed by accident. When I arrived, the front desk agent was super professional, friendly and just wonderful. He gave me a corner room and it was twice as big as a NYC 2 bedroom apartment. It had a full size kitchen and it probably was the best marriott that I stayed at with the exception of Paris but...I had my daughter in law with me and we needed 2 queen beds. Despite having a pull out coach and feeling like I was in the pent house suite, I asked for a different room and the front desk guy was so patient and understanding and changed my room. However, the residence inn was full so he moved us to the AC Hotel floor in the same building. That room was also clean and amazing but it was half the size of a NYC studio apartment but with a amazing balcony with a great view. The rooftop restaurant is a must do. Since I booked the residence inn, I was still able to get the free breakfast which was great (no free breakfast with AC Hotel). They also have a guy working on the floors that is attentive and makes sure you having everything you need. I dont know how late he stays but that was a nice touch. Customer service was out of this world great. Parking is $32 a day. My kid went to school in Charlotte for four years and Im sad that this was the first time I stayed there. Im looking for a reason to return to Charlotte just to stay at the residence inn. All stadiums are close.

2/10 Poor

Rude staff ruined the trip, TV didn’t work
Unfortunately, the evening front desk receptionist was extremely rude and argumentative. Our TV did not work which was frustrating as we wanted to relax and watch TV in bed. For a hotel of this caliber and cost, the TV should be in working order. When I asked to discuss with the manager in the morning, the receptionist argued with me stating “we are booked at full capacity and busy,” “you want to talk to a manager over a TV,” and “I have your profile pulled up you paid $236, not $300.” Her tone was rude and unprofessional. At $236 a night, I should have a working TV. Disrespectful staff will ruin the experience and outweighs a nice location or room. Eventually, a repair person came up and was not polite either. There was apparently a cord missing which caused the issue. I declined him going back down to get a cord because at this point, it was not worth any more trouble.

Long wait
The property was nice. Clean room with everything we needed. Food was good at the restaurant with fast service. The negative is that we had to wait over an hour to get checked in. There was only one person working the desk. Carol was spectacular when we finally got to the check in desk. She had a big smile on her face even though she was the only one working. Management definitely screwed up on this weekend with a Morgan Wallen concert at the stadium down the street. We missed our dinner reservation with friends due to waiting so long to check in. No luggage cart to be found so we hauled all our luggage ourselves and stood in line in a very warm elevator lobby. Other than that, it was a good experience.

Cleaningness concern
The sheets on the bed had not been changed. There was hair on the bed so I requested to change sheets. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. My concern is if they didn't change the sheets what else was overlooked? Spacious room. Great view
