Perfect for a transit layover.
Stayed here for one night due to the early check in offer. We needed a layover Hotel for about 9hours and this ticked our boxes perfectly. We wanted something cheap and clean. The bathroom was indeed tiny but clean and it was acttually one of the best showers we have had all week so just try it and yes it does soaked the entire bathroom! We checked out by 9pm so didn't try breakfast.

On a prior stay to this hotel, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay but on this visit, my daughter and I had a very cramped room. It was very sparsely furnished, the bathroom ‘stall’ including the toilet, sink, and shower which was inconvenient. Lastly both nights of our stay the adjoining room had very noisy occupants and with the paper thin walls, we heard everything all night resulting in very poor sleep. I can not recommend this hotel this time as overall a very different exam experience!

Can't beat the location
Great location, close to many restaurants, the metro and the People's Sq. But, limited choices at breakfast and limited seating for all the guests. Can put up with that given location. Stayed in one of the nicer renovated room; small room but quite adequate for my one weeks stay. Some coffee, and not just tea, provided in the room would have been great.

A bargain
This hotel is a no frill no nonsense place; it is great for people who do not need luxury accommodation and do not want to pay for it. The hotel is close to the Bund and restaurants. The room I stayed is small but good enough for a single person who does not need a luxury room. The bed is surprisingly comfortable. Soundproof is a concern; I could hear my neighbor's snoring--not that loud, but audible. JL The breakfast

Price doesn’t reflect the quality (in a good way)
I can’t fault this hotel. It has a nice, clean welcoming lobby, friendly staff who are helpful and efficient. The room itself is as small as you’d expect given the cost of a nights stay but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is of new design.

Clean, comfortable, and right near the city center
This is not a luxury hotel, but we knew that going in. It's a comfortable hotel with friendly staff and clean/comfortable rooms, within walking distance of the Bund/East Nanjing Road, several subway/metro stations, and local small businesses (including several small restaurants that cater to locals and convenience stores). You can easily get there from either airport via the #2 (green) metro line--get off at People's square, it's a ten minute walk (with luggage) southeast of the station. The bathroom is a little tight for those of us at 6'3" and up, but it's workable. Plus, the money you saved can be used to shop and eat your way around Shanghai
