Good budget hotel for a short stay
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Bund, People's Square, Nanjing Road and Yu Garden. Just 5 minutes walk to the closest Metro station. Lots of places to eat around the hotel. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, great AC, working WIFI. Chinese buffet breakfast was good with lots of options . Friendly stuff with limited English. Choose type A room, it's much bigger than type B and has separate shower. Stayed in room 708. Ask for the upper floor for some views and less noise.

Don't know why and how this hotel gets 8 out of 10 Do not get the breakfast if you are not Chinese. Did not see a single traveler's who like any item on the breakfast menu. Only edible thing was boiled eggs. No tea , and don't even tink to try the coffee . Basic room has no windows to outside and bathrooms are combo . We had to upgrade to the best room they have and still was like a motel room .( Canadian or USA standards) And it's not quiet what so ever. But location was great, close to lots of restaurants and subway. If choose to stay eat elsewhere and don't get the basic room on any costs .

Great location, clean rooms, value for the money.
The location of the hotel is excellent regarding the sights of Shanghai. The nearest Metro station Dashijie is less than 5 mins walk away. People's Park, Yuyuan Garden, Nanjing Road and the Huangho river bank are accessible by foot in 10-20 minutes. The room was clean and looked after every day. Room 607 was located in the North Building. I realised that there is a south wing, too. I am not sure if the rooms there are as good as what I had but there is no reason to doubt they are not. The English skills in the reception personnel varied depending on the person. The breakfast that was included is a Chinese type breakfast. After tasting everything a bit on the first morning I found my choices. For a westerner the tastes were quite strange but I could eat enough to leave the breakfast room happy. There are other choices just outside the hotel, too. The hotel is a nonsmoking hotel but during the first weekend a person smoked in his room with the door open and the personnel did not seem able to make him stop.

Good hotel, good location, awful bathroom
Very good location, and just two blocks from the metro. Bed was very comfortable, and in general the space was quite adequate. Staff very friendly and very helpful. When I needed a taxi, they made arrangements. Downside? Bathroom was extremely cramped and the shower didn't have its own water supply, instead feeding from a rubber/vinyl hose attached to the faucet in the sink. The breakfast buffet was not inspiring, and there was not enough seating for a hotel of this size. In spite of the negative aspects, I would stay there again.
