6/10 Good

Staff are great and the evening meal was tasty. Local also friendly and the bar was as expected from a pub with rooms. But, when did a continental breakfast stop having cold meats and cheese. The room was small and ok but nowhere to work. TV small for the room and stopped responding to the remote and not a lot of room in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and plenty of parking. Overall, it was OK but overpriced.

Check-in was quick and easy, less than 5 minutes between checking in and opening the door to my room. My room was very warm, partially down to the warm summer weather, but also coupled with the distinct food/deep fryer smell, I suspect also due to it's proximity to the Hotel/Bar's kitchen. These things cant be help. The room did have a small fan, which was appreciated. The bed was comfy and the bathroom spacious.

The check in experience was good with the young guy actually showing me to my room. The room was clean enough but the heating wasn't very good, only one radiator which inky ever got luke warm. The hotel and room was generally tatty. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Lovely place to stay

Although the room was very clean it was a little tired. The staff were very friendly and helpful, couldnt do enough for you. We had an evening meal and also the continental breakfast both of which were excellent. Would definitely stay here again

Very friendly staff. It is a pub so noisy 'till about 23pm. Car park safe and shops close by, 2min walk.

Staff very friendly & went out of their way to help. Room could do with updating but still clean.

8/10 Very good

All in all a good stay, staff were the best thing. Very friendly and helpful. Food in evening also good. Room was comfortable on whole, but my only criticism would be the bathroom was dated and felt cramped due to old fashioned style bath/shower. In any case, I would stay again if in area on work.

Lovely Hotel/Bar.. Area.. Clean room for our stop over for The British Superbike at Donington. Daniel was very helpful. The Breakfast Staff. And the Bar Staff again. Nothing was to much trouble. Will be back next season.

10/10 Exceptional

The hotel is in South Derby convenient for the A52 and about 3 miles to the city centre. Free Parking is on site and is locked overnight. There is a Lidel and Tesco within 200m of the hotel. Checkin was prompt and we were allocated a room at the back as requested which was quiet. The room was quite tight with little storage space no desk, limited surfaces to put anything ,with a double bed that was comfortable enough. The bathroom was bit more spacious but in need of updating. A good sized continental breakfast in the morning with hot croissants, toast and fresh coffee; cooked breakfast was available but as an extra charge. In our opinion this is good 2 Star hotel.

Okay for a night

Without sugar coating it, it was a filthy room, staff were great, food was nice, but the room looked nothing like the pictures online! Mouldy bathroom, and i was above the woman's toilets so i constantly heard the hand dryer going up until midnight.
