This B and B type of hotel is a hipster-type of location. There is yoga and dining options with a focus on being next to the beach. The location and hotel itself is nice enough. There were a few issue like not having a hairdryer, huge problems with the final bill (keep an eye on what you are being billed for), no drinking water in the room, etc. All of those things could be remedied with some operational standards and training.
What absolutely disgusted me was the way the white team members spoke to the local sri lankian people. Racism at its finest. There is a time and a place to coach someone. It should never be done in front of guest and it should be done with an uplifting tone to train the person. Speaking to your hotel employees like they are your slaves is absolutely ridiculous. I stood back and watched while every foreigner employee treated their coworkers in the same way. Obviously a mindset that has been passed along. I couldn't figure out who to address this with as it seems this is a foreign owned and operated hotel. In Europe or North America, this type of behaviour would be legal ground for discrimination and workplace bullying.
I would NEVER return, recommend or support this type of business. If you choose this hotel, in my opinion, you are supporting the type of suppression of people that we are working as a human race to rid ourselves of.
