Amazing stay for a Ryokan and onsen bath experience. We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the peaceful town, delicious food, relaxing baths, and amazing service.

it was the best ryokan experience ever could be imagine! Service is outstanding. The staff deal with us, westerners, in the most gracious manner possible explaining things about which we were ignorant. Food was great. Rooms and the garden are beautiful. It is an expensive property but it worths every penny of it.

An amazing experience staying at Nishimuraya Honkan ! Hotel staff were attentive from the moment we booked, to our stay and waving us good-bye. The hotel and garden was very beautiful. On the morning of check-out I went to the hotel’s onsen around 9am and got the whole place to myself ! So relaxing and calming. A unique experience staying in a traditional Japanese ryokan. Dinner and breakfast was a culinary delight! Haru was our host for mealtimes and she was so attentive and added to our overall experience. The whole town is charming and very picturesque and you've got 7 onsens to choose from. All the ryokan provide their guest with Yakata to wear around town which added more charm to the town. Definitely worth a side trip to Kinosakin Onsen when visiting Japan.

This is the best ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen. It has history & old world charm. Has a small but peaceful & beautiful courtyard garden. Location is good, right in town & convenient.

Loved everything, it doesn't get more perfect than that. Amazingly beautiful ryokan, kind, warm and extremely attentive staff, the veiews of the garden and the surroundings are breathtaking , the onsens in the ryokan are great, everything is stylish, sparkling clean and the food is exotic and deliscious both in taste and presentation. Could have stayed there forever, felt so relaxed and happy, very grateful to the staff for all the personal attention I have received.

I'm happy about their effort to accommodate a vegetarian in our group. However, I would like Nishimuraya to offer a bottle price for sake in addition to the price for ichigou (180cc).

Kinosaki is a picturesque town with a canal running through it. I would rate Nishimuraya Honkan as one of the top ryokans I have visited. Up there with Gero Onsen Ryokan and Arashiyama's Togetsutei. I rate the Hotel, Staff and food as 5 star. Our room assistant, Natsumi, was always cheerful and helpful. We were a party of 6 and stayed two nights. The kaiseki dinners were excellent, well presented, and the best meal in our 4 weeks in Japan.

The most amazing place to come and experience the real onsen culture. A charming town and wonderful service at the ryokan. The dinner was superb even if the local breakfast was a bit more challenging!
