We loved our stay at Rock Lake Lodge. Rustic and secluded so perfect for our family fishing adventure. The staff were amazing! Candy and Leo were so friendly, funny, and authentic making for a very enjoyable stay. We ate all our meals at the lodge and the food is delicious! The kids just loved to food, the staff, and the area. Thank you again for a lovely time!

The food is terrific! This is important, as there are no other dining options for miles around! The smoked chicken was, in particular, one of the best meals that my son has ever had. The location is extremely secluded which is good, if that's what you want. We did not realize just how far from Jasper it is, but we found it after getting some help from a local tourist center (the property did not show up on GPS). The room was really cool with plenty of bunk beds for our whole family.

This place was amazing!! The staff was so friendly. My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights and found that the staff was really helpful the whole time! Scott and Candy were very attentive to any need we had, Leo was great at making sure the sitting area was nice and toasty with the fire, and the food that Robert and Phyllis put out was top notch! Even though this is a bit out of Jasper, it was a great getaway! I highly recommend it! AND if you love animals, we saw some elk feeding not to far from us! It was awesome!!

Wonderfully peaceful place
Place is great. Candice as manager is fabulous. Details are her speciality. Robert is the chef. Here's a man that can be very creative with food. All hamburgers are not created equal for Robert. Excellent chef. Fabulous visit at lodge. Thx for all your kindness and for being so thoughtful with my wife anfd I. Cheers

In the forest
Very quiet and nice place , about 40 mins drive on the rough road to gets the lodge. Lake is very close by, TV internet is only inside dinning area. It was nice trip there but $275 a night a little expensive for me. If you are eating at lodge best to go early or their food are run out. You can rent canoe bikes or boat , nice to go for cruise around or fishing at the lake. When I visit wildfire smokes made it invisible mountains.

Too far from Jasper
We were planning on using the lodge as our base for exploring Jasper Park. The lodge website states that it is 90 minutes from Jasper but it took us two hours each trip just to get to the town. Closer to 3 hours to get to a point of interest. So that is 6 hours a day traveling. Our room was very hot and stuffy. Most hotels do not have a/c here, but Rock Lake did not even offer a room fan. They also kept the downstairs fireplace going which added to the heat in the rooms above it. High temperatures were in the low 80's!! No amenities were in our room, not even cups or glasses. No coffee or ice available. Very loud with no insulation between the rooms or floors. All the lodge bedrooms are above the bar, dining and meeting area, adding to the noise. Our trash can was never emptied. In summary, we paid for four nights but left after two. Better to lose the money and save the vacation. And maybe this is a coincidence, but both my wife and I had internet security issues the day we left the lodge. Only one electrical outlet in our room.

Kind of waste of vacation time
The location is very remote, far from the national parks. This hotel is in a provincial park next to Rock lake, which is ordinary looking if compared with the stunning views of the Jasper park next door. You are better off spending the time in Jasper park. The cabin is clean and rustic, the surrounding is quiet and pretty. I am not sure if they really offer what they claimed about the activities. We booked a boat and fishing tour in advance and it didn't happen. They claimed their free bikes were broken but they were actually ok. I suspect they just don't want to be bothered. They don't have horse on site and we didn't bother to book, because we sensed that probably is not going happen either. They did have a canoe which we rented. If you are not a local looking for a quiet and remote getaway, skip this place.

It is hard to find it
this hotel is hard to find it because it has no clear driving direction in their website. I stayed their two nights and I heard several client missing the road or drive to wrong way. It is two far from Jasper and I do not recommend to stay the cabin.

Great wilderness resort
This is a remote resort - 14 miles on a dirt/gravel road, but worth the drive. The chef was great, the horseback riding was fantastic including the view of a herd of elk. Suggest you plan on staying two days and explore the wilderness. Long drive to Jasper and other attractions.

Off the beaten path
we enjoyed our stay. the food was great. the boat ride was just okay - the 'captain' had nothing to offer and the ride was rather boring. the other man who joined the trip, as training I think, could offer much more insight and info into the area. the bikes 'didn't work' - I think that just meant they didn't have air and the lodge wouldn't air them up. I saw them sitting there... our bed was super comfortable. I think we're glad we went, because we saw a big black bear and the place has promise, but I'm pretty sure we'll never go again. it's so far off the beaten path, you should plan to stay a few days, but to do that they need to get their act together - get a better plan for the boating offering, make sure the bikes work, and offer a few other activities.

Nice place if you are looking for seclusion....
Great place to stay but make sure to plan your drive ahead. It's a gravel road stretch, download an offline map for your gps cuz there is no cellphone coverage. Rest is fun

Secluded but charming
Staff Sara and the cook were top notch. Food was the best. Lodge was 2 hours from Jasper for daily commute. No horse riding as advertised due to flood. Mountain Bikes advertised were in disrepair. If you are looking for secluded peace and quite this is your place. If you're looking for adventure in the park stay a little closer.

Rocky Mountain Retreat
We booked the lodge cabins for 3 nights. The cabin was large and recently constructed. Clean and quite. The staff at the lodge were very friendly and willing to help in any way possible. The food at the restaurant was very good with chef quality preparations and presentations nightly. Enjoyed on-site horseback riding and canoeing. We saw plenty of wildliefe including Elk, Bears, Foxes etc. It was great to get off the grid for awhile, although wifi was available when needed in the lodge itself. We would return again, and recommend this stay for anyone wishing to relax and do some unwinding in the Beautiful Alberta Rockies.

Nice Getaway
We went for a weekend and stayed in a cabin, not the main lodge. We took out mountain bikes for some back country riding. Being only a short ride from the Willmore Wilderness trail system it was an excellent location. The staff was great, they were very informative and helpful. The lodge was cozy and homey and we were made to feel welcome immediately. The lake and surrounding valley were breathtaking. In our short stay we met the one of the owners of the lodge, some nice ladies from Shanghai and a couple from Boston Mass. Riding our bikes we saw elk almost close enough to touch and met a train of 29 horses going to supply a hiking group that was heading up to the wilderness for a 16 day trip. All pretty cool for city folk. The lodge was great, the staff was excellent and it was a much needed rest for us.

Basic reason for picking this hotel was location.
We booked this hotel thru Expedia but on the night prior to our intended arrival, we received confirmation of our booking only to determine it would not fit our needs. We booked for three adults only to find that the room available would not accommodate. Staff was pleasant but could not find any room that looked anywhere near what was presented to us by Expedia, thus we had to cancel. As we were in the area at this time we did go to Rock lake found the setting to our satisfaction. Would like to attend these facilities but will not use Expedia

Very out of the way but rewarding.
We wanted to get away from the world for a bit and the cabins here did it. I was a bit disappointed when I arrived and they only had me down for a one night's stay when I had contacted their service and been assured there would be a second night setup. That said, they worked hard to make sure I could stay the second night with no issues. We had dinner there the second night and it was OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend it for someone who wants to get away from the world for a while.
