It was a very okay stay. I loved the service and attentiveness of staff, however everything else was lacking. The conditions of the room were sub par- it felt very humid and made it difficult to sleep. We were first put in a accesible room in which the bathroom door didn't close. We were then moved to a different room in which the temperature was set to 65 yet it was too humid to sleep.

The room was spacious and clean. The location was perfect. But the stars of my trip were the staff. They were so accommodating and kind. They booked my tour for me. They arranged transportation to and from airport. They even went to the pharmacy for me when I was injured. They left little treats in the room daily: hair tie, fruit, champagne, bath salts for NYE tradition, desserts. I will only stay there when I visit Rio.

To mention a few names of the people that helped me this stay on a daily basis: Rilary (at the front desk, she’s the best, give her a raise and a bonus); Ferreira, Lorenzo, Samuel, Amanda & Everton (at the rooftop, they served me on the daily, even had my preferences memorized, great service); Taisa, Elisa, & Mariana(at the spa, always so warm and helpful); and lastly Giselle (best masseuse in the house)!

Unfortunately, the quality of service has noticeably declined. The reception team appeared distant and unwelcoming, conveying a sense of dissatisfaction rather than hospitality. There seemed to be a significant number of staff members in training, which may help explain the lack of coordination and polish throughout the experience.
The infrastructure also feels dated. The elevators are old and unusually slow, and much of the furniture shows clear signs of wear. It is disappointing, as the hotel has lost much of the warmth and charm it once embodied.
Given the current standards, I would recommend considering alternatives such as Fasano or Copacabana Palace, both of which offer a far superior level of service, comfort, and overall experience.
