I stay at the sixth floor and smell like wet dog. The pool was green when I arrive. There was an used man underwear in the closet. They don’t allow visit. The bed was uncomfortable. The A/C was loud. The only good thing I can give is the location in Copacabana, anymore.

The location is great, half a block from the beach. The staff is very helpful. The hotel feels secure. The AC unit was making noise but in some ways I got used to it and helped me sleep. It was not a big deal. I was on vacation so I enjoyed every single day in the city not matter the circumstances. The roof top view is really nice, very relaxing.

Very dated and run down hotel with mold growing on many surfaces and a bed mattress sinking and leaning due to use. Elevators buttons often didn’t work and would often result in randomly stopping at incorrect floors.

The overnight male hotel receptionist named PAOLO was rude and unprofessional He refused to let my friend come up the elevator just to retrieve his backpack from My room Even though my EXPEDIA booking stated that up-to two guests were permitted under my booking, the hotel receptionist made a stink and wouldn't allow my buddy just to come up the elevator to get his backpack(!) The receptionist made my friend wait in the lobby while I went upstairs and another hotel clerk followed me upto my room to get my friend's backpack I have no idea why the hotel treated my friend as an intruder and behaved in such a manner I am quite disappointed at this receptionist's behavior to say the least

Oceano Copacabana Hotel DUMP NIGHTMARE

The hotel was not clean, in major disrepair, elevator did not function most of the time. When it did it was demon possessed and would not go to the correct floor. Our room was not clean, ball of hair left in the shower, floors dirty, night staff was rude, especially the english speaking man with black glasses, would not let a friend of ours visit us in our room because he has something against him. The safe in our room did not work so there was not secure place to keep valuables, air conditioner made a lot of noise, breakfast was ok, eggs always runny and room temp, TV did not work in the room had to wait for it to be fixed, no hot water for three days in the shower during our stay, WIFI what a nightmare did not work 90% of the time. You had to stand at the door of the room to get a strong enough signal.

On Expedia, under "Highlights" they listed, TV, AC, Daily housekeeping, Private bathroom, Safe, etc. When I ask them for the code to use the safe, they want me to pay a fee. I told them that they highlighted it. Their response was, yeah we have it, but if you want to use it you have to pay. This is ridiculous, do I have to pay to use the bathroom too? BTW there was no housekeeping 3 days. I got an email from Expedia about the situation. Then, magically the hotel want to clean my room. I didn't ask about, but I think that Expedia team got involved, that was the reason why I got the room cleaning. Anyway, assume they will charge for everything unless they say that it is free ........

Only spent 2 nights.. The good first.. Hotel is on a side street to the beach.. And right next to a park also.. Staff was great.. Breakfast was decent.. Instant Hot water with really good pressure.. Sheets and room was clean.. They give you a discount coupon for a restaurant around block that is a buffet.. It was also good.. But the Rodizio across the street from it was superb.. Easy walk to beach.. And Uber, taxi, and rental bikes are easier to get out front.. Also.. The roof area is amazing view with nice little pool area and hot tub (wasnt hot) there is also a sauna that is really hot. The bad parts.. My room had electric issue.. lamps by bed and 4 of the over head lights did not work.. There is an extra cost to use the safe.. A/C is a window style unit in the wall and buzzed a bit loudly.. This is an older hotel and in truth was expected, so i can not complain to much cause the price was right for it.. Plenty of pubs, and restaurants within walking to check out..

Contudo, apenas um elevador funciona para todos os hóspedes o outro tem que solicitar na portaria, mas demoram para mandar, como fomos em um feriado e o hotel estava cheio, a média de espera do elevador era de 10 minutos. No check-out parece que os funcionários têm medo de não respeitarmos o horário, pois avisam quando passamos pela portaria e depois ligam no quarto falando que já está quase na hora, um inconveniente.
