The property was located in a wonderful nature area. It was very beautiful. The room was as expected.
The dining experience at the property was average, food was substandard and service was okay. The receptionist who checked us in was and I quote a "gen z" She made a mistake with our room numbers. then the next day one of the staff members walked up to my husband while he was having lunch, in front of other guests, very loudly told him that he should have checked out hours ago. He was forced to rush through his meal only to go and tell them that they made an error. Very embarrassing.

Spectacular hotel to stay in
Spectacular hotel to stay in. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious and the staff were so welcoming. I wish we stayed there extra nights. Hardly any cellphone signal which is a great thing sometimes. WIFI in the bar area. The star gazing excursion is a must and such a lovely experience. 2 things I would reconsider.....1) the game drives and star gazing is too expensive especially if you are a family of 4 and the reserve does not have all of the BIG 5.
2) The Spa needs more therapists as most people could not make a reservation as the Spa was always fully booked.

Unique stay with wonderful feeling of ‘being at one with nature’. The rooms were pretty pricey for what they were (we stayed in a cave suite) and the food very average. However the whole experience was lovely - we saw a fair range of animals (don’t expect safari but some interesting birds and antelope) and went on some good walks. The staff were exceptional and made our stay very special.

Beautiful, quite setting to relax and replenish
We came to Kagga Kamma at the end of a very busy week following our wedding as the first stop of our honeymoon. The break was just what was needed - quite and beautiful surroundings that are mostly untouched and food for the soul. The facilities at Kagga Kamma provided us with some enjoyable couples experiences as well as services that tailored to our individual needs. The staff were exceedingly helpful and accommodating and the ranger led tours were very enjoyable and informative. We strongly recommend Kagga Kamma.

Excellent hotel away from the crowds
Loved every minute of our stay. Friendly staff who were genuinely interested in our wellbeing. Hotel is located far away from the crowds and won’t be for everyone. Some of the most beautiful rock formations that we have ever seen. A unique experience.

Absolutely fantastic! We stayed at the outcrop room. Sleeping under the stars is a wonderful experience. The only downside was the shower at the outcrop had just been serviced, and the gas heater wouldn't stay on so the water oscillated from hot to cold. But that was a minor thing, and didn't affect the overall experience.

Spectacular scenery, peaceful and serene setting!
Visited Kagga Kama for 2 nights. Enjoyed the 'wilderness' experience!
Staff were very attentive.
Outdoor dining at night in the boma with a huge bonfire to keep us warm.
Game drives, sunset drive. Saw a few animals, bontebok, gemsbok, wildebeest, eland, jackal and a rabbit and a hare.
Our accommodation in the 'cave' was a nice experience...ask for a higher 'cave' for better views!

Rustic faraway place
The area was beautiful and secluded with a magical ancient charm. We booked a cave hut and expected something special- either for naturalness or for luxury because it was rather pricey. But the cave was rather fake and there was no luxury or hot tub or seclusion or privacy. So we felt it was a bit overpriced. The staff were very nice. The meals were good. The spa was great. The service was a little lacking and slow. It was great as a rustic getaway - that had an old school feel. But it wasn't luxury service and accommodation that it was priced at.

Fantastic location, comical service.
First a couple of good points:
1. The wild location is exceptional.
2. The food was very good and excellent value.
The bad:
1. It's at least an hour drive on a dirt track off the main road. 4 wheel drive almost essential, especially if it rains. Would be helpful to be told in advance.
2. Wi-fi very poor. Don't rely on it.
3. Spa was closed 'for maintenance' for the whole of our stay. Was one of the main reasons for going.
4. Main course took 1.5 hours on first night. Certain items not available as 'out of season'. Were available in supermarkets in Cape Town!
5. Stargazing was 'off' due to cloudy weather. Complete nonsense, was one of the clearest night skies I've ever seen - and one couple persuaded them to run it, but no-one told the rest of us!
Could have been brilliant and special, instead of interesting but frustrating. In spite of everything I would still recommend it. But come on guys and girls, decency customer service should be the easy bit.
