Our oasis… while the other hotels along Camos Bay are on the loud main road through town, The Retreat is just enough above the road that you really only hear the ocean waves breaking on the shore or the birds in the gardens. We were so happy we picked this place instead of near the chaos. The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive and we ended us eating there most every night as the food was great and the outside dining area had the best ocean sunset views you could ask for. We had to cancel one part of our journey and turned around and came right back here. Such a treat.

Staff very courteous. Room was clean. Convenient location near the beach (10 minute walk). Missing a hair dryer which they brought promptly. No hot water when we arrived but they fixed (by turning off the water supply to the pool!). Breakfast waiter first day very nice, but kept forgetting what members of our family (of 5) had ordered. Some items never arrived. All in all, a nice hotel, almost very nice, and reasonably priced.

We had a room in the manor house which was really nice, a few gripes was that it's a bit noisy near the tennis and you have to keep all the curtains closed due to the outside lighting, our tv had to be reset a few time and the bed was a bit uncomfortable. However, the actual manor house is beautiful with a glorious view. You can eat outside to enjoy the view, the food is very good also, staff friendly.

Beautiful property but breakfast needs attention!

Camps Bay Retreat is beautiful, we loved our stay, especially with having a wood fired hot tub. The breakfast was extremely disappointing with no continental buffet and many options not available on the small menu (avo, english muffin, tomatoes). We were also the last to order a coffee as there wasn't enough milk (this was at 08h30am in the morning). For a 5 star establishment, the breakfast is rated 3/10. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful location, the stunning view is the star and the staff are very pleasant and polite too. We had a number of small issues though with our room’s hot water and heating. Meaning we had to move room and had issues with the new room once in it. The staff did their best to help as they always seemed to do and they ended up resolved so it wasn’t the end of the world. We enjoyed the breakfast and found the meals perfectly adequate. We loved the old colonial style of the decorations and the local neighbourhood of Camps bay and the beautiful little pools everywhere and the stunning draw bridge. The padel tennis court was a nice touch. Overall the place feels nearly luxury but not yet quite there. This is not because of lack of effort. The staff are really great. With a few polishes and amendments to the overall standard this place would be of the first class - it was a very good experience just not a great one.

Manor has a Old World charm. Room was clean, large and well thought out. Staff were extremely helpful when called upon. What a cool and unique hotel concept! A beautiful, old building makes up the core of the resort, with several newer houses around it that have been converted to hotel rooms. Multiple pools, nature paths, a pickle ball court... there's something for everyone. Plus, it's a very quick walk down to the beach!

Booked a room at Camps Bay Retreat for NYE - they told me my reservation was at Bay Hotel. That is NOT what I booked, but with it being NYE there were no other options around Cape Town. Bay Hotel is an entirely different property in an entirely different location. Not only did I have to stay at this property that I did not book, they would not provide any compensation for what they admitted was THEIR MISTAKE (a "system issue"). Beware of this bait and switch tactic they are using to show photos/descriptions of the Camps Bay Retreat to sell rooms at different properties. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Das Gartengelände ist eine grandiose Mischung aus verwunschenen Ecken mit Ruhebänken, Natur Pools, “Dschungel-Feeling” & Anbau von eigenen Kräutern & Gemüse… extrem gute Massagen im Mint spa erlebt. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und die Lage des Hotels ist super. Leider wurde am ersten Tag unser Gepäck auf dem Hotelzimmer nach Bargeld durchsucht. Ein Teil des Geldes wurde auch entwendet. Das Hotelmanagement hat sich der Sache angenommen, jedoch wurden nur Formulare ausgefüllt. Auf den Wunsch eines Zimmerwechsels wurde leider auch nicht eingegangen. Beim Check out wurde der Vorfall nicht einmal mehr erwähnt. Das hat uns bei der Preiskategorie des Hotels sehr gewundert.

Perfekt boende i en fantastiskt miljö med underbar personal. En lugn oas, ett litet paradis, med kort avstånd till Kapstadens centrum. Tog ca 10 min med en Uber in till centrum. Vandrade längs stranden eller i dalen upp mot The Lions head. Restaurangens frukost och övrig mat måste upplevas - makalöst gott. Tack, återkommer gärna om vi får möjlighet att återkomma till Sydafrika.
