It was ok, we dont think we will stay again.

A nice hotel with friendly staff

A nice hotel with friendly staff. A restaurant and bar, a grassed garden area and a large parking area. Rooms Comfortable, with a shower and bath. Minor maintenance issues in our room with loose toilet seat, curtain off of rail and dirty carpets that need sorting.

Perfect venue for murder 57 game

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely venue, full of character. The spa facilities are amazing, and probably worth a visit just for that! Friendly, helpful staff add to the great overall experience of staying at this hotel.

relaxing stay

Needed some chill space so stayed here. Good choice.
Roger, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff very friendly and helpful. Double bed very comfy, single bed far too soft for an adult, fine for a small child. Rooms would benefit from a deep clean. The building is looking tired (visible bubbling on the walls, discoloured plug holes, tatty bed bases) and needs refreshing. For a spa day I would be disappointed, for a base to explore the area it was fine. The pool was a key factor in choosing this hotel.

ROOMS IN MUCH NEED OF UPDATING

Friendly, helpful staff but don't seem to have many. First room we were given (Rm 14), the springs of the mattress were visible under the duvet!! Told the guy on Reception we wanted another room. Mattress was rock hard but no springs (Rm 70). No side lights or table lamps in this room. Shower was great. Quite large walk in shower & rainbiw shower. Tea, coffee, kettle in room. Very basic decor and very basic room. Evening meal was delicious and breakfast was full English, toast, cereals and fruit. Again, very nice. Just a shame about the rooms.
Robert, 1-night trip

Leisure facilities were filthy Walls were paper thin and I had to knock next door and tell them to shut up Beds need new mattresses as they were so uncomfortable and you need more than 1 pillow per bed

Nice setting for the hotel. Nice patio area and grassed area. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Would go back again.

6/10 Good

No wow factor, but a very reasonable place to stay. A couple of small issues that's couldn't be resolved but the breakfast was good, the staff pleasant and the room clean, the power shower was great
mark, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

A lovely hotel with good facilities in the SPA. My only complaint was the WIFI in my room (057) was intermittent and did actually fail one night which did annoy some of the guests.
Stephen, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Faulty shower head, faulty light in bathroom and light not working in main part of room. Generally, quite run down.
Peter, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

We all enjoyed our stay , staff very attentive, food was nice, family room was excellent , pool was great for all concerned. I would book this hotel again, I would have to say it does need tidying up and if money was spent on it then this would enhance the hotel.
Terence, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Friendly staff but the Hotel needs a good clean and updating in some areas.

8/10 Very good

All very pleasant, room needed updating though. Spa and pool were good, booze was a bit pricey, staff were excellent, altogether a very nice experience
John, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice hotel

Very friendly staff but the overall state of the rooms is very tired and ready for some TLC. Dinner was nice but breakfast was not of the highest quality. Fresh fruit salad would have been nice.
Marco, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Will definitely stay again

The hotel itself is a little run down, but that is massively overshadowed by the wonderful staff and facilities. Staff cannot do enough for you and were brilliant with our little ones. The family room was large and spacious and still had a sense of elegance about it regardless of the fact it was a family room. We will definitely be back as a family. The pool was fantastic also, clean and warm.

Family Stay

Two night trip away with my partner & 2 year old son. Standard Queen room. Was clean and cosy enough. A cot was provided in our room as requested. Plenty of space in the room also. Around a 7-8 minute drive to both Chester Zoo & Chester Centre. We got a taxi into the centre 1 night (£8). Would recommend the Sergios Italian Restaurant. Didnt experience the spa services so cant comment. Chose not to get breakfast for £15 and instead went for breakfast 3 minutes down the road at The Wheatsheaf (£4.99) all you can eat breakfast.
Adam, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

Low budget option with very dilapidated furniture and amenities. Beds uncomfortable. Facilities severely worn down. Staff was very pleasant. Stay here as a low cost option to save on money. But don’t expect anything exceptional.
Seth, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

We checked out before staying the night as we didn't feel that the hotel was safe to keep our children in. The hotel condition is extremely dated and in a poor state which wasn't ideal; however, our decision to check out early came when we walked down the hotel corridor to our room at 7:30 and smelt cigarette smoke and marijuana coming out of the rooms and heard a dog whimpering in the room next door. The guests who were staying in the rooms near us were extremely loud. As we were leaving the hotel we are fairly sure that we witnessed a drug drop-off outside the hotel. It is worth noting that the staff were trying their absolute best to be welcoming and helpful. They were apologetic when we explained why we were checking out early. The hotel manager called me the following day and offered a free of charge stay at either this hotel or their sister hotel new Drayton Manor. We declined but appreciated the gesture.
Mark, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Below average very disappointed

Room was dirty and needing updating bed was very uncomfortable hardly slept the three night we was there, nosiey due to lack og double glazing , only positive thing about this place was the staff were friendly and the pool and location , very disappointed with our stay
Jayne, 3-night trip

4/10 Fair

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, he helped accommodate us to another room due to a faulty toilet. Unfortunately the rooms and hotel itself aren’t very clean, it’s very dated which is a shame as it has beautiful grounds and so much potential. The changing rooms for the swimming area isn’t very nice, it’s dark, freezing and unclean. You have to leave your belongings at the poolside if you don’t have a lock for the lockers too. Unfortunately we won’t be returning to this accommodation.
