"First, the positives... We stayed in a Julu room. The bed, linens, and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and sweet, and treated us very well. I appreciated that someone came around every dusk to light a mosquito coil on our front patio. My wife and I also really enjoyed having the patio to sit on in the evening after dinner. There is a lovely fan right above the sitting area which keeps things cool and keeps mosquitoes away. Also, the property's cats are very sweet. The included a la carte breakfast was also quite good. It was nice being right across the street from the beach and there are turtles swimming just off the shoreline.
The staff arranged transportation from the resort to the peer, a boat to Lombok, and a car waiting to take us to the airport. It was seamless.
Now, for the downside... There were not a lot of electrical outlets in the room. The only one we could find access was in the bathroom. The woven seats in the room when we checked in, were too low for us to sit on. But when we asked for chairs they accommodated us with some from the dining area. The photos of the rooms make it look quite bright; they're actually quite dark even with the inside lights on.
As the bathroom is partially outdoors (traditional Indonesian), that means it's usually quite hot and humid in there and mosquitoes are readily able to access that area. Another thing to be aware of is that the north side of the island it's not as quiet as I had thought. There are "
