Rio de Janeiro and related destinations
Take the train or van to Christ the Redeemer for views that explain why locals call their city 'Marvellous.' Copacabana's famous mosaic pavements frame a beach where football never stops and vendors hawk everything from caipirinhas to sunglasses. The Museum of Tomorrow's futuristic shell houses exhibits on sustainability beside the revitalised harbour. Samba schools welcome visitors to rehearsals before Carnival, while tiny juice bars serve açaí in bowls thick enough to require spoons. Escape to Tijuca Forest, the world's largest urban rainforest, where waterfalls provide relief from the tropical heat. At sunset, join locals at Arpoador rock between Ipanema and Copacabana, where applause erupts as the sun melts into the Atlantic.

"Está todo muy bien"
JANEIRO Hotel
"It was a good stay. The location though is amazing!!!"
Hotel Atlântico Travel
"No Quarto que eu estava o ar queimou antes das 3 da manhã e tiveram que me trocar de quarto."
Hotel Nacional Rio de Janeiro OFICIAL
"This could easily be over five stars hotel. The lobby is huge and beautiful. The pool is great. The location is amazing very quiet and very nice if you don’t want all the Copacabana and other beaches crowd. The spectacular view from the rooms that’s facing the ocean and the restaurant at level 30 has an amazing view. There is a small shopping Mall 2 min walk and big market 5-7 min walk. Mushrooms are designed beautifully with lots of space but the first one we got was not clean or maintained the way it should be. The only reason I’m giving four stars to display is due to very basic things that every hotel does there was no cover on the mattress. I’m in the protector cover the bathroom did not have the standard items next to the sink like a glass for your toothbrush, etc.. in many areas of the hotel it wasn’t completely cleaned like in the pool area and some other places saying all that I will definitely go back to this hotel"
Miramar by Windsor Copacabana
"This place was beautiful, and the staff was beautiful from the time I arrived. It does have an outdoor pool up on the 16th floor that I didn’t get to try, but it looks wonderful and there’s a gorgeous view from up there, especially if you check it out at night time and my room was really nice, it was not one of the largest but I had a window with a View and the staff bent over backwards to help me. I really enjoyed it. I was not that impressed with the Copacabana beach area on Sunday evening when I arrived but first thing Monday morning it was gorgeous and not so full of so many people."
Hilton Copacabana Rio de Janeiro
"We love this hotel. Their staff is excellent and the location is perfect. The only thing is that the rooms could be a bit more cleaned."
Windsor Leme Hotel
"El staff muy amable, nos ayudaron con mucha información y hasta con reservas fr tours. Las instalaciones del hotel súper cómodas, vistas increíbles. Un hotel muy bien ubicado y seguro!"
Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana
"Staff- Great Place - clean Security - great Beach chairs and towels specific for Fairmont - free This hotel has it all. Impressed. Definitely, recommend it."

During this period, hotel prices may drop, making it an opportune time to explore the city's rich tapestry of landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions — including beaches, scenic vistas, museums, art galleries, architectural marvels, and live music events accompanied by breathtaking sunsets. A stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal for immersing oneself in the city's iconic landmarks and cultural heritage.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To secure savings for your trip to Rio de Janeiro, visit Hotels.com's DealsOpens in a new window section where you may discover reduced hotel rates when booking near your travel date. For last-minute getaways, check the Last-Minute Deals area and enable email alerts or push notifications for flash sales. Moreover, the app’s Smart Shopping feature helps you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see favourable options when rates drop or rooms become available.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates might help you save on your stay in a Rio de Janeiro hotel. For those interested in distinctive experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised stay and could offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that might help you secure a more attractive rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Rio de Janeiro's excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
