10/10 Excellent
"The perfect place to stay with a central location, incredible breakfast, clean room, beautiful pool… and affordable (when booked in advance). Concierge Arnie and Steven were wonderful with our group of adaptive athletes in assisting in arranging rides. Lovely group of humans and would 11/10 recommend staying here!"

Carlton Hotel Singapore

Carlton Hotel Singapore

8/10 Good
"Very central hotel, close to all the major sites and across from shopping so super convenient. Hotel overall was great. The amenities were nice. The rooms and overall comfort depends on which floor you stay at. We were initially on the seventh floor and the hallway was musky and heavily scented with perfume or scented spray. The room was damp and musky even when they offered an air purifier it didn’t do much and was causing us hives. The experience made it hard to sleep. We heard others from the seventh floor complaining about how musky and damp their rooms were too. We requested to switch rooms and they didn’t have any available until second day. When we switched to eight floor on second day, the difference was immediate. No musky smell in hallway and room was nice and fresh, not damp, not perfumed, just fresh and clean. We ended up having a nice satay after that. I can’t give them a five star because they should know better than to rent out rooms that are damp musky and smell mouldy. I think they should investigate the entire seventh floor perhaps it’s a ventilation or pipe issue. But overall, had a pleasant stay later on and loved the location."

10/10 Excellent
"This is a big hotel that still feels personable. The staff are very helpful and friendly and in- room facilities were great. A lot of international flights arrive well before check in and reception do whatever they can to help until rooms are ready, like use of the pool area for a swim or shower. They can hold your luggage after checking out if you have a late departure flight. So a great service level. Breakfast is a massive affair with choice of several different cuisines, but can be very busy at times. The lounge/bar is very comfortable and has a range food as well as drinks and the staff are attentive . The hotel is right on Clarke Quay so plenty of restaurants, shops, and nightlife on the doorstep. The hotel also have a booking agency for tours which is a great convenience if you have no plans in mind! We are looking forward to a return visit next time we are travelling through Singapore"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Singapore

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly times to visit Singapore are in March, May, and June, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the city's iconic landmarks, rich history, and vibrant culture, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is advisable. During this period, visitors can take in the stunning marina views, stroll through the beautiful gardens, enjoy shopping experiences, and immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of Chinatown. Additionally, the city's impressive skyscrapers, picturesque scenery, significant monuments, and informative museums offer great value for money for those on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Singapore, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. To stay updated on potential flash sales and exclusive last-minute promotions, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com. Additionally, utilise Smart Shopping , a comparison tool available via the app, to help you compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to see the best options for your spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your dates may help you find a better deal for your stay in a hotel in Singapore. If you're in search of a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it appears to be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that might be more affordable, helping you to explore your options.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels located near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but thanks to Singapore's superb public transport system, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even some lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
