Resort was nice looking in lobby , once you get to room, not well taken care of toilet seats werent the proper size absolutely filled with mosquitos, beds were missing legs. The food was awful except for the jerk chicken stand by the pool. The crew and staff were helpful and nice but i can only assume that other resorts were much better maintained and cared for. We spent most of our time at the hard rock hotel because we werent able to fully enjoy ourselves at Riu Republica. I would not be visiting again or referring anyone.

Fun hotel, but not quiet and AC not the greatest.
Our stay was a week. The noise level was unacceptable at all hours of the night. The air conditioning worked but didn’t work well. We had mold in our bathroom above the door and around it from the humidity I assume. Room service did a great job cleaning the general area and making the beds, but the mold was always there.

A Fun experience
Despite some bad reviews I've seen, I found the resort to be a lot of fun, super big and has a lot of entertainment. There is also food for all tastes and quite a variety, the employees in all areas are very friendly and especially those in the buffet area La Altagracia and the Jerk Chicken that is near the beach is the best I have tried in years.

Our stay was less than pleasant. The resort is beautiful on the outside but the staff is not very friendly or helpful. If you don’t speak Spanish they barely try to help you. We had to change rooms our first night because there were bugs every where in the floor. The food made us sick the second night. The ran out of clean beach towels the first day so we had to use our room towels. I tried to use the steam room that opened at 9am before my flight but they didn’t start cleaning it until 9:40am. I will probably never stay at a RIU again.

RIU is a all over the country and the mold thats all over is horrible, i didnt even feel comfortable drinking the liquor from my room because the rust an mold around the spout is terrible, there is little to no air conditioning in the room didnt sleep good at all for the 5 days also the foul smell of feces all over is atrocious. Please update this resort especially with all the money RIU is receiving. People pay lots of hard earned money to enjoy a beautiful place and you're greeted with the smell of feces as you're arriving into the resort.

1. The elevator in our building did not work which required us to either take the stairs to and from the 4th floor or walk a long distance yo the one working elevator. 2. The air conditioner in our room kept going on and off. 3.The water pressure was terrible andvhot water was limited.

Estuve con mi familia del 18 de septiembre al 22. Y la verdad es el peor resort que e visitado. Demasiado calor en todos los restaurantes. Los aires acondicionados malos. Las tarjetas para abrir no servían, tenía que ir hacerlas activar de nuevo varias veces al día cada que necesitaba ir al cuarto. La gente muy antipática muy serios y su atención terrible. El pink party terrible como se llevan toda la gente del resort a un espacio tan pequeño eso fue lo peor de todo. No lo recomiendo muy mal olor en los cuartos. Jamás volvería.

This property needs updating. They do not pick up or clean hallway,steps, and pool area. At night all the pools have people having sex in them and condums floating in pools. The bathroom are gross dirty and puck in them. The staff in the gift shop are very rude and lots of staff unfriendly. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY STAY AWAY!

This is a party resort, so if you are going here simply to party this is the resort for you. I’ll start with the bad: The rooms were dirty, and not up to date. The mirrors have rust on them. House keeping only gave us one single towel and it took hours for them to bring a second one on the first day. Then they forgot to clean our room / supply fresh towels another day. The food here is terrible - mostly buffets and the sit down dinners only take 100 people a night so if you don’t get here early you aren’t getting a sit down waited dinner. Buffet food is out for hours and has bugs flying in it and is cold. gross. - I got food poisoning from the food here…so eventually stopped eating the meat and just ate salads and fruit. Our room cards stopped working every single night. We had to go to front desk to have them reset them literally every day…this was a problem for many people at the resort and for our six days there they weren’t able to find a solution. Some rooms are a ten minute plus walk to front desk so it’s rather annoying. The pools where the swim up bars are at are DIRTY. Lots of people partying and never leaving, you do the math. With that, the pool bars are supposed to close at six but sometimes they close them at 5:45. Entertainment at nighttime was non existent. Okay now the good, the beach is beautiful & lots of pools to pick from. Mora the bartender was phenomenal, great guy! We will not come back to this resort.
