Beautiful property with a private beach that is tucked away in a sheltered cove. Clean, spacious rooms with excellent wi-fi. Lots of staff and security on-site. Wide variety of foods to choose from at the buffet. Family-friendly. Arranging airport shuttle was not straightforward.

2/10 Poor

We like that the property is private and The only thing that we did not like the communication, it was really difficult to know what events were having. Nobody knew. It’s like the kissing and the front desk never really knew what it was for dinner or what they have for lunch or breakfast. It was always the same breakfast, but other than that everything else it was wonderful I know that they were on the season for mosquitoes, but they fumigating well. The customers were here and that’s really dangerous. there were some stuffing that they were kind of rude. They have a personal who take care of the kayaks and the patty board. One of the stuffing was really rude and we were shock about And the event team were not really exciting. We were there for almost a week and a half and everything was repeatedly. They were not so much things to do in the property. Also snacks during the breakfast lunch or lunch to dinner so pretty much you had to wait to grab something to eat, they only have Breakfast lunch and dinner but they’ll have Snacks between those hours and there’s nothing really close so you can go buy some snacks so if you not drive in you had to kind of communicate with the front desk so they can get you somebody to take you to a store and sometimes the store there like 30 minutes away and you had to wait for at least an hour so that can take almost 3 hours off your day they still have the name of Media Luna reserve a spa But they just reopen and their work progress

The staff needs more experience and the menu and services in such need work but overall they are on the way to success. They also need to stop all these blogger / influencer promos they have been doing. Stuff like that isn’t going to work help pick up the establishment. What’s gonna help is word of mouth, and word mouth will come once the entire complex is renovated, menu options have improved and the staff is full trained. One last thing, Media Luna needs its own social media accounts; they need to separate themselves completely from the Henry Morgan brand. They’re full different in all aspects.

As a female lone traveler, I felt the staff went above and beyond to make me feel safe and happy. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I loved my room and the layout of the place. My only suggestions are that they clean up some to the trash in the water near the beach. When I went snorkeling, I saw a lot of plastics and trash in the shallow water. Also the patio door at my villa was very hard to open and lock.

It is excellent if you want a quiet place to rest .. If you want to move to west end or west bay you need a rental .. taxis are too expensive

This property is off of the beaten path. It is nowhere near the west end or Coxen hole or any of the other popular destinations. The staff is very friendly and very eager to please. When we encountered problems ( one or two minor issues) the staff and management were very quick to help and make amends. As a SCUBA diver, this location is great; the associated company, “AquaAdventures” is convenient and staffed with talented divemasters. Morning and afternoon dives are available to guests. My only complaint is the hotel’s relationship with the tour operator that takes residence in the lobby of the resort. We wanted to go to the West End for shopping and sightseeing and were told that a car to the West End would cost $100 USD. For the record, I have driven from the VA-N.C. border to upstate New York for less than $100. When I asked the Hotel reception how to travel to West End, I was told to consult with the tour operator.

Interesting Hotel
The dive side of the hotel has a pleasant view of the ocean. The rooms are nice however, there is no wifi access in the rooms. The gymn needed to be updated and wifi access has to upgraded. I could not make any wifi calls. Staff are the best in the hotel industry. Changing the food location would make it really nicer, for example a bbq outside....You can't rent a scooter to get to the hotel, the access road is to dangerous. To steep and plenty pot wholes. I would only recommend a car to get to the place. Shows are okay, instead of focusing on tropical themes, maybe something like Mayan dance themes or story...or Mayan culture...Or story of how the island of different people came to live on the island.

Peacefull, a bit over priced
Warm, engaging staff. Hard to reach reception or front desk prior to your stay. No blowdryer, No iron in room. Plenty buffet style food but gets cold, needs to have a warmer available. Over priced tour and excursion. Seek outside for a much better deal.

Remote resort on the beach
They used VERY creative photography for the rooms and beach. Our room had lots of water damage in the bathroom, one of the sinks would hardly drain, little lighting in the bathrooms and they only have COLD SALT WATER showers. They only provide towels, no wash cloths/handtowels even though we asked for them DAILY. They have scheduled power outages twice a day that would be ok if they actually stuck to the schedule! Because its warm during the day they start lawn maintenance early... early as in 5am, 5AM right outside your rooms till usually 7am. I'm talking DAILY lawn maintenance with blowers, weedeaters the whole bang!!! EVERY SINGLE DAY... The resort is remote, the hotel only offers a shuttle to/from the airport for a fee. So if you want to see/do anything on island you either have to rent a car from the resort or purchase an excursion from the resort. The beach is SMALL but clean. The pool is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. They have armed security everywhere, which is a little unnerving, but at least you know that resort guest are the only ones there....

Nice hotel, excellent service.
Loved the hotel ambiance. The service was great. On the negative, the road needs to be paved( full of pot holes, stone, and mud. The food was repetitive, and the entertainment for the most part was not good. The hotel dancers only perform one night(they were good)and they had a gentleman who played keyboard and sang who was really good, but that was it.

Great relaxing getaway
Great couples getaway! Very low key and relaxing. Small resort so everything was very personal. Our cabana was on the Oceanfront and it was well worth the extra $'s. Always beach chairs available on the beach or by the pool; never a line up at the bar or for dinner. Great nightly activities that kept everyone entertained. The BEST snorkeling and scuba diving I have seen. Private beach was fantastic and very well maintained. We rented a car one day and went sightseeing to the West End. Glad we were staying at Media Luna; the West End was great to visit but is way more commercialized. We really enjoyed the low key atmosphere at Media Luna; biggest decision was beach or pool to start the day! I hear there will be direct flights from Calgary/Edmonton next year. Looking forward to that!

A weekend off
I was traveling in Central America for work, and instead of staying at San Pedro Sula I went to Roatan to spend the weekend off. I choose the hotel because it is all included, all the rest I've checked were not (except for Henry Morgan which is part of the same group HM), but at the end I decided for Media Luna because I wanted a quiet place. All inclusive was a must because with only 3 days in the island I didn't want to waste any time. That being said: - rooms are ok, spacious and well kept, mine was ocean front, if you're expecting a huge ocean view, forget it, lots of vegetation but it has its charm - food was ok, typical buffet food - during the weekend I was in there, it was not that crowded which I loved because the pool and the beach seemed private - not much to do, it is a small hotel, but it is good if like me, you're spending a weekend off.

Worse exeprience ever
The staff and manager of this Hotel will try to overcharge you for every single thing. The premises are not bad, but the location is ridiculous. 40 minutes from the rest of the island. Other hotels allow you to enjoy the several attractions of Roatan, but in Media Luna you will be a slave of the poor service and the worse food you will ever have in your life. Trust me. Avoid Media Luna's resort.

Beautiful property , bad food
We only stayed one night. The property and view was beautiful. the rooms looked clean but we found a big brown insect in the bathroom. No phones in the rooms The food was not good at all.The property is an all inclusive resort, but they only offer a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. dinner is offered from 6-8:30 so if you are hungry before or after there is no food options.

Nice hotel, great location, cheap drinks, OK food
The hotel is very nice in a beautiful location. The staff is awesome, specially the entertainment team. Drinks are bad, really cheap stuff. However, the Hollandaise bear is great. Strong and always cold! The food has a bad presentation and has it's ups and downs. No cheese or ham available at breakfast, unless you ask for an omelet. Snacks are horrible some days. Basically the same options every day. We did have a sea food night that was good though! This property is really great and could be an unbelievable resort if the administrator was more careful and had a better vision. There is a wood sundeck in front of the ocean that would be a wonderful spot for a bar with happy hour, music etc. Lots of great areas that are not well explored. I recommend anyway. The price is right for what you get. Lots of friendly Europeans and Canadians around. Great massage at the SPA!!!

Roatan deserves 5 stars, Media Luna... maybe 3...
My wife and I went to Media Luna for a valentines weekend trip. The resort itself although slightly on the small side was beautiful and seemed relatively well maintained. It was a good place to stay for a few days but was lacking in a few ways. The drawbacks that will likely prevent me from going back again are 1) The food. Going into the trip I felt like I had pretty low expectations of the food given the reviews of others but my expectations were not low enough. 2) Remote Location. Although the location was great for a two day trip if I were to go back again I would probably stay somewhere closer to the west end or north shore of the island 3) The service. For every great and friendly interaction I had with the staff there was another that was just poor. The arrival shuttle was about 30-45 minutes late. I understand that you need to be flexible when traveling to other countries, however when you arrive and there is no representation from the property you begin to get concerned. Perhaps the worst was when coordinating the return trip to the airport. The gentlemen at the desk insisted that we must take a 9:00 shuttle to the airport even though our flight did not depart until 2:45.
