This is a lovely pub. The rooms are quite simple, but clean and comfortable. The food is excellent. Lovely Indian Dinner and freshly prepared cooked breakfast. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Well worth the stop

We enjoyed our stay at the "castle." The room was comfortable and clean. We had hoped to use the restaurant, but were too tired. Nevertheless we enjoyed a cooked to order breakfast, that was excellent.

We chose to stay here as they offer some ground floor rooms and we like the fact that they open directly to the outside. We were made to feel most welcome. The room was comfortable and of a reasonable size. We enjoyed the curry and the breakfast was good too.

Wonderful stay

Stayed for 2 nights and wow what a lovely place. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The restaurant/pub food is absolutely delicious and the breakfast equally so. Met two female housemaids and they were so lovely and friendly it made our stay so much more comfortable. Would highly recommend staying at Sturdys castle when visiting Oxford or the surrounding area.

We enjoyed excellent food throughout our stay. The choice of freshly cooked breakfasts was very good, and then in the evenings we ate in the restaurant which had a wide selection of food on two different menus. One menu was classic Pub food and the other was Indian, with dishes specially created by an award winning chef. The Indian food was delicious with interesting spices, and not too hot, so we worked our way through most of the dishes, enjoying them all. Our room was comfortable and a decent size, but would benefit from some repainting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would happily stay there again.
