Beautiful location & deck with view for dining
Beautiful location. Front desk staff super helpful and friendly, especially Hafizah. Clean community kitchen stocked with dushes, pots, pans and cleaning supplies, BBQ grill, refrigerator space and small amount of free supplies like milk. Had french press or plunger for coffee so bring coffee grinds. So close to hikes. Great value for price.

Better buy and prepare your own food if you don’t want to eat at restaurants. There is no grocery nearby within 4-5 miles.

Overall, a good stay!
The room was basically as advertised. The king size bed is 2 twins put together so there is a lump in the middle if you choose that option. The Mountain View was great, the kitchen and lounge area were nice as well. The whole restroom is a little tough to keep dry as the shower is the same floor. We would stay here again!

Not a lot of choice in Mount Cook Village but the Alpine Lodge is clean and well equipped and so well placed . The walls are a bit thin but everyone without exception respected this fact so it wasn’t a problem . The staff are helpful and parking is relatively easy either at the front in the evening or at the back during the day . The views of Mount Cook from the communal area and the upper bedrooms at the front are perfect . Nice to sit with you coffee looking at the mountains . Everything else you can put up - not luxury accommodation but great even so .

Staff was extremely helpful. Was an overall comfortable room. General kitchen & dining area had awesome views. At night there seemed to be loud machinery noise-I forgot to ask what it was. I was able to sleep because I got used to the sound.

Stunning location, mediocre hotel
You're paying for the location not the property itself and the location is 10/10 - a 7 minute drive to the start of the hikes, Mt Cook view from just outside the front door! Stunning! The property is what it is, you can't expect much in a remote location but I was still disappointed. Rooms are tiny, no AC (it could get warm on a sunny summer day), no air circulation at all. Only hotel I've had in NZ without a mini fridge in room. There is a full shared kitchen and lobby got guests with several fridges but other guests moved my stuff in the fridge and it was definitely not optimal especially in a post covid world. It would be very worth it IMO for the property to spring for a mini fridge and microwave for each room. Rooms are accessed from inside with a tight hallway and stairwell. Still in the end worth it for 2 nights for the location.

The location is perfect. The common lounge is super. The view is also excellent. The rooms are bit dated. But it’s ok for short stays. Considering the price and location it’s excellent value

Mt Cook is a destination that has to be visited. However it is expensive with limited options to dine. Nowhere to relax and have a drink before cooking your own dinner. While the alpine lodge was ok I would never return for a second visit. Very happy I only booked one night

Very easy to locate and the staff organised the key for our late check-in. The room is very cosy and warm. The kitchen in the common room has got everything and it is quite clean.

Room is very small. Shower pressure was a bit sad. Really convenient place to explore Mt Cook but other than that pretty basic. No fridge in the room either although we found leaving things in the car cool enough at -5

Great spot for a hiking trip!
This was a great place to stay the night between hikes in Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park! It's a great location, right next to the visitor center, and just a few minutes from the Hermitage, which serves up the best buffet dinner I've ever had (it's pricey, but as the only dining option in town while I visited, very much worth it)! I would definitely stay in this lodge if I visit again.

We had a studio with mountain view. It was lovely. The wifi was excellent. The room was spacious though relaxing. Unfortunately our unit was at ground floor and facing the car park. So it can be noisy at time. our stay was also marred by the next door neighbour who smoked at our patio.
