Loved it!
Loved it! A room in Amsterdam with a balcony?! AMAZING. Beds were super soft. They cleaned/gave fresh towels and bedding everyday! 24/7 reception. Stairs are fine- clearly people haven’t stayed in other Amsterdam hotels before- as the stairs are typical for an old Amsterdam building. Shower was perfect. Could do with a lick of paint and some minor cosmetic bits to the room but honestly prefer it the way it is. A proper Amsterdam hotel

Good time and it was nice to stay there but the problem is the stairs, a bit scary and not safe for the visitors.

Fantastic stay. C.S
The reviews do not match the stay. This was my first time in a low star hotel i picked it for the location but had a good feeling from choosing the good reviews over the bad. Perfectly clean room beds changed daily. Nice balcony. Tv although alot of channels wasnt in my language but it was fine. Snacks to buy if you left it too late to go shop. Came home and booking my next visit cant wait

2/10 Poor

wouldn’t ever stay again
Don’t really even know where to start… I will start off by saying the two and only two good points - it’s a brilliant location! And our room had a balcony - that is all I have to say that is positive! Upon checking in, we arrived to two guests very upset (in actual tears) because they had a bed bug infestation in their room! This put me off straight away I asked for a refund and they refused. They ask for an extra fee when you arrive so my partner refused to pay this until we had seen our room…. We went up, stripped that bed down to the base! Granted there was no evidence of bed bugs in our room personally, still very off putting. But the room itself was horrible, it absolutely stinks! The bathroom smells awful and the room smells like stale smoke. There is nothing in the room other than a bed and and small tv, no bin, kettle, fridge, literally nothing whatsoever. The sheets were clean but everything else was dirty, even the walls covered in marks and filth and the floors. I actually couldn’t even bring myself to shower because I didn’t want my skin touching the tiles or the shower curtain… the stairs I know is a common thing in Amsterdam but they could offer help if you have a lot of baggage as it is a very high, steep stair case. Whole building is in need of a big lump of money spent on it as I feel like it could be a prime hotel. But unfortunately I would never stay here again neither would i ever recommend.

6/10 Good

Staff were very friendly and someone was always at the desk to help. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel is situated in a very convenient area with lots of shops and transport. The room was cleaned every day. Some things I would improve were that the shower head sprayed water in all directions and there was no storage at all in the room except for a small beside table, so we couldn’t hang clothes anywhere.

We realize we are in Europe and things are different than in the US but the room was very tiny as was the bathroom but it was adequate and it was clean and the people working at the desk were very pleasant and helpful. There was plenty of restaurants and shopping right out the door. The bed was extremely comfortable. We loved it for its location and was walkable to many places in Amsterdam.

2/10 Poor

The pictures online look nothing like the room that I got. The room itself had one working outlet, nowhere near the bed, and nowhere near the minifridge which was in the corner unplugged. The bathroom was extremely cramped and the toilet made a noise at all points while in the room. (Think of the sound of leaving the tap on overnight but louder and no way to stop it). When entering the hotel there are two very large, very steep, flights of stairs and no elevator, which was not included in any disclosure. When you get up the stairs there are 2 signs staying "No guests allowed in the room" and they will charge you $400 for any complication. When I checked in they charged me a $44 tourist tax (one that was required by amsterdam city was also included in my booking and they charged me a second time for it) When consulted about both of those issuses the receptionist had no answers, and with most of my issues and the different receptionists it seems like not one person in that hotel was on the same page as the others, with no clear person in charge. The crowing point to this hotel after all this was the fact that after there was a complication with my booking and I was missing a night on my trip I came down and they informed me if I was to book the extra night it would be around $240 a night (around 2.5x the price I was paying nightly) when I said I was not interested they said I have to leave my room immediately. I explain more on my review I posted on google but I would look.

there are no elevators, only very narrow steep stairs. keep that in mind. otherwise the room was good, clean, and the views from the window were nice. It’s an old building so there isn’t air conditioning either but we stayed during the cooler season so having the window open was just fine !

This is a 2-star hotel, so you can,t expect luxury, but it is perfectly well located in a historic building. Some opinions report the presence of bed bugs, which is not true. The room was very clean and the beds quite comfortable. The staff is corteous and helpful. The only terrible feature is the loooong, steep and narrow staircase, but most old buildings have the same problem I definitely recommend this hotel unless you are fan of the 5 star hotel chains.
