The property was very nice, clean, and the staff was very friendly. Some of the room service staff didn’t speak english very well but reception staff was able to translate so it wasn’t an issue. Only thing we didn’t like was the restaurant options. Most restaurants were closed due to the slow season so the was not many options and they were overpriced and the food was not worth the price. Breakfast buffet was $29 a person. They also include a 16% gratuity in your check. Other than the food, we really enjoyed our stay. We did rent a car and were able to find some great food options near the resort. The view of the El Yungue rainforest from the pool was priceless.

We had a really great time and really enjoyed our trip, but a few things to note was one there was some black mold on the patio and bathroom floor area. Although it’s to be expected in such a wet climate, if it were cleaned after every guest throughly then there wouldn’t be any signs. The second thing being bed bugs. At first we thought we were getting eaten by mosquitoes every night, but upon closer inspection when we got home, we realized there was bedbug bites all over our bodies and in our clothes.

Be prepared to drop ALOT of money! Nothing is included in your stay and the breakfast is $40. A fresh juice in the market is $12. Want to use the cabana by the pool? That’s $100. You can’t even sit on them in the early morning hours without being kicked out of it because you didn’t pay. Keep all of your money in the safe, housekeeping went through my backpack and found my wallet and stole $200. If you go to dinner off resort to save money it takes about 20-30 min to get there because the drive out of the resort is so long. Property is dirty on the other side of your balcony, filled with garbage. They empty the septic tanks every morning so the pool area smells like actual poop, it’s so gross. I would never go back to this resort.

Limited food. I bought spoiled yogurt from the market. $$ for food and drinks in general. Pool bar closes at 6. No night life or inclusion in this resort. Aesthetically pleasing but boring overall. Not to mention you will pay $50 for Ubers anywhere since it’s far from the real experience of Puerto Rico.

Nice place, ran into a few minor issues but no Biggy. Be prepare to wait long times for the men on golf carts. Bring lots of off spray. Beautiful outside scenery , great pool. Will come back again

Everything about my stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve was amazing! I was nervous after reading previous negative reviews, but the location, room, and overall resort property were PERFECT! I’m so glad that I didn’t allow the negative reviews to sway my decision to stay here. I’ve stayed in San Juan in the past but this was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend and plan on staying at this property again.
