Not worth the money
This hotel was under renovations when me and my wife were there for 3 nights. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The problem was there was dried blood on the sheets which we didn’t notice to last night. The chair in the room was ripped and the arms were black with dirt. Plus we were never notified that there was just a grab and go breakfast. I understand they have to do renovations but the customer should have been notified of the breakfast. This experience is making me think of never staying at a comfort inn again

No longer worth the money
It was awful. Seriously considered checking out. We have stayed here several times over the past few years and it was fine. Worn but fine. It has gone WAY down hill. The elevator smelled so bad it made you gag. Our room was rusty, dingy and uncomfortable. The couch cover actually scratched my mom's arm so bad it bled for 10 minutes. The lobby was also shabby and sad. The price is not worth it. You are overpaying!

It was an alright stay.
The top two floors were being renovated and the construction workers were right above us when they started working at 9am which was fine but we didn’t know about the construction until we went to get on the elevator and saw the note about it. After breakfast when we got in the elevator it smelled very heavy of paint thinner. We rented the room at this hotel because we had to be at the MUSC hospital early in the morning and didn’t want to drive that morning before the procedure. Overall it was fine for the night, but if we have to get another hotel room in Charleston we will probably go to a different hotel.

Due to construction it was very noisy during the day. Construction workers and bins in elevator several times. My room was a beat up somewhat but decent. Free breakfast made it worth it. Parking was awful.

The lobby smelled bad, musty, dirty and cigarette smoke. There was a used bath towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door when we checked in. The room smelled bad. The carpet felt damp. The air conditioner never cooled the room so we did not sleep well.

We had our stay during construction (which we had not been informed of prior) and it was a bad experience. Very loud, which comes with construction.
I spoke with the front desk about moving and we were fully accommodated! We moved 2 floors down and it was a wonderful stay.
We have stayed here several times over the past year due to the proximity of the VA Hospital, and each time we had a wonderful stay. The staff were great, friendly and very accommodating. This just happened to be “one of those times “.
We will continue to stay in the future as our needs require.
Kudos for the entire staff.
