Good place for first visit
This was a good choice for our first visit to Merida, but there is definitely scope for improvement.
Pros-
- restaurants and coffee shop on site,
- pool and spa services on site,
-safe & convenient location (Walmart across the street to get stuff),
-right off Paseo Montejo with easy walking to a variety of coffee shops and restaurants, -many staff speak English
Cons-
-At the hotel, we had to ask Front desk for every piece of info as there was nothing in the room to tell us anything. Needed directions to the pool; whether there was room service and how to order, etc
-there was an ice bucket but no ice machine; can get ice delivered to your room;
-no refrigerator in room for a city that was pretty warm even in winter;
-no microwave in room;
- there was a coffee machine but pods were not free, and when we did use them, they were not replaced
- not every staff member could communicate in English (but maybe my expectation that in a hotel with Americana in the name would have staff that could understand basic English is wrong)
Overall, a good choice for first trip, but next time, we will choose something closer to the main plaza for convenience
