"The rooms and bathrooms are large. The food in every restaurant is good. Nice full sized gym access. Nice pool area with a hot Jacuzzi. What makes this hotel stand out for us is the staff. Everyone on staff from top to bottom is always ready to help and to make sure your stay is comfortable. The reception staff especially this visit of Angie, Daniel, Kate and the two guys at concierge (Edgar y ???) made this visit even more special. They took great care of us over our five day stay. Not to forget to mention the breakfast staff especially Christian and Jerry and Priscilla who helped us make sure we had what we needed even when my wife could not come down for the breakfast buffet."

Barceló San José

8/10 Good
"We stayed here for the second arm of our vacation. The pool areas were well-maintained. The landscape of biodiversity created a rainforest vibe. The lobby was open and furniture was well situated for lounging around. Clean rooms but outdated with a hint of opulence- so I was not too bothered by the old fashioned decor. The breakfast was average, and lean towards meat lovers and limited vegetarian options. There were no eggs on the buffet, so if you wanted eggs, you have to wait in line to order it. One night, we decided to dine at the buffet, but a 1 minute look at the food items, we decided to eat elsewhere. Another night we decided to get room service, but the hotel phone were inoperable so I had to walk to the lobby area to order. I order seafood rice and it was awful. Big chunks of crab shells (almost chipped a few teeth). The staff was friendly. The shuttle ride to the airport was efficient. The hotel was a bit further from the city center and not many restaurants that you can walk too."

DoubleTree by Hilton Cariari - San Jose Costa Rica

10/10 Excellent
"My stay was exceptional from beginning to end. The property is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and every detail reflects the care and pride the staff takes in creating a memorable experience. My room was spotless, comfortable, and peaceful, making it easy to relax and enjoy my vacation. The staff truly made this stay special. Everyone I encountered was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely eager to help. The level of hospitality exceeded my expectations and made me feel valued throughout my visit. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wonderful variety of fresh, delicious options each morning. I also enjoyed the pool and other amenities, all of which were clean, well-maintained, and inviting. My only recommendation would be to make the spa menu and room service menu available online before arrival. It would be helpful to browse treatment and dining options in advance to better plan a stay. Overall, this was an outstanding experience, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and a relaxing getaway. I look forward to returning! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Santa Ana

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Santa Ana is between August and October, when hotel prices tend to be lower. During your visit, you can enjoy dining options, explore charming cafes, and indulge in some shopping, all while interacting with the friendly locals. Additionally, take the time to appreciate the natural beauty of nearby volcanoes, partake in informative tours, and unwind at local bars or coffee shops, ensuring a great value for money on your trip.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Santa Ana, you may visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you're more likely to see discounted rates on nearby hotels as your travel date approaches. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re notified if prices drop or rooms become available, making it easier to seize that last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates may help you save on your stay in a Santa Ana hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and occasionally offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest more economical dates to increase your chances of securing the best deal.
  4.
