"The Shore at Katathani has stunning ocean views and exceptional buggy drivers, who were consistently the friendliest and most helpful employees we encountered. Unfortunately, they were the highlight of our stay. For a property marketed as a luxury 5-star resort, the experience fell well short of expectations. The hotel ultimately arranged an expensive airport transfer, but the driver appeared exhausted, the van had a cracked windshield, and the brakes sounded unsafe.Check-in was chaotic, our villa was not available until after the published check-in time, and communication throughout the stay was inconsistent.While the villa offered beautiful views, it was clearly showing its age. We encountered cleanliness concerns, mold and mildew, maintenance issues, worn towels, excessive humidity, and inconsistent housekeeping. We even found a feedback card left behind by a previous guest. We booked a private pool villa to enjoy the pool, but the water was so warm it felt more like a hot tub than a swimming pool. Dining was equally disappointing, with limited breakfast options, unavailable menu items, slow service, and an uncomfortably hot restaurant. Most disappointing of all, after emailing the resort to share our concerns, we never received any response. Beautiful views alone do not make a luxury resort. Based on our experience, we would not recommend The Shore at Katathani."
