Beautiful oasis in a historical building
This little oasis has in Bergama was such a nice surprise. We ended up extending our stay. The rooms are in what used to be part of a karavanserai (we slept in converted stables) and are basic but clean and comfortable. If you ask the owner to fix breakfast, you will get to taste wonderful local spreads, cheeses and pastries, and perhaps some things you would normally not get to taste. The beautiful garden was great to relax in after visiting the city and sites. Only negative were the town’s dogs barking all night, and the muezzin seemed to have taken residence inside our room, so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. But this is of course the same for all hostels in the area.

Horrible
We booked a night stay for 4 people. When we got there, owner offered us to chance rooms in case we wanted it. We accepted it and stayed in the new rooms as there was just one other person who was staying there.Rooms were so dusty, toilet seat on one of them had stains from the previous stay. One of the bed sheets had bugs on them. In the morning, we sat for breakfast with a person whom we didn’t meet before as well as the owners. We shared everything from the same service plates. I don’t know how acceptable is that when there is a pandemic around. When we were about to leave owner came over and ask extra 20€ for changing the rooms which he never mentioned previous night. When we told him that he never mentioned about extra charge, he saw how upset we were he just asked for 100 Turkish Lira which is about 10€. Amount is not a big deal but the place is definetely not worth paying about $70 for a night. I’m sure you can find way better options in the area. It was an unfortunate experience.

Charming old guesthouse, rooms simple and clean, ours had air conditioning which was welcome. Cats and chickens co-exist peacefully in the garden, where there are chairs and a hammock to relax in. Breakfast was a delicious spread of typical foods.

Not for me.
This place is difficult to find, but in a good location once you do. The night I stayed there was a children's party complete with music until 2300hrs and then screeching children running about until midnight. For some reason the owner had put me in the room closest the noise (all other rooms were vacant). The room itself was very small with no cloths hangers and little room for storage. I would not stay again.

The staff was amaizing, the manager open the door for me at 6.30am when wasn't yet checking time. He's also very friendly with the guests..good convesation and good turkish cafe. I really recomend Athena Pension... This pension has also big garden to rest after visiting the touristic areas also is well located in an peaceful area, no noise from the street. And close, there is small restaurant for breakfast with friendly staff and turkish breakbast and cheap. And also close to minibus station to Izmir. 10/10

Endroit charmant
Très belle pension dans un quartier tranquille avec un grand jardin arboré, cuisine à disposition , grand salon séjour pour se détendre, café et thé à disposition.
