This hotel is a gem and great place to stay as a solo traveler. As a woman, I felt safe and cared for. The amenities are well done and the food options are great for the stay. Also, check out Mama Africa across the street for any of your souvenirs needs (not a paid ad, it's just VERY convenient).

Stayed here recently on a multi-country Africa trip, and my feelings are mixed. The hotel itself is genuinely excellent — the property is polished, the rooms are well-appointed, and it's clearly the standout luxury address in Accra. On paper, it has everything you'd expect from a top-tier international brand. Where it falls short is the staff. True five-star service means guests feel like the hotel will bend over backwards to accommodate them. At Kempinski, the vibe was closer to the opposite — you get the sense you should feel fortunate to be staying there, rather than that they're working to earn your loyalty. For the price they charge, that attitude doesn't add up. What really drove this home was staying at the Mövenpick as well during the same trip. The amenities aren't quite as polished as Kempinski's, but the staff were noticeably warmer, more attentive, and more genuinely helpful. Given the choice, I'd pick Mövenpick over Kempinski every time — the service gap outweighs the amenity gap, especially at these price points. Bottom line: a beautiful hotel that hasn't quite matched its service culture to its price tag.

The Hotel was very nice. The room however had a damp smell and feel throughout the stay. Staff very nice and helpful. Pricing for food disappointing. Major difference between over charge and being ripped off. Two scoops of ice cream $17 USD which is completely ridiculous. The spa was very nice and clean. Hotel within walking distance of shopping and exploring. Very close to the airport.
