COLORS Urban Hotel Thessaloniki
"amazing clean hotel with amazing location"
Electra Palace Thessaloniki
"The room was nice, with very effective air conditioning. Staff were always friendly and helpful. We didn't really use any of the hotel amenities as it is so central you are surrounded by the cafes and bars of the city immediately on your doorstep. The only complaint was with beach and showering, the room really needed more places to hang wet towels!"
The Met Hotel, a member of Design Hotels
"The Met is all round excellent hotel, and the staff are always welcoming and hospitality which makes it what it is. It has an excellent breakfast buffet with a wide selection of choice. Fabulous roof top pool and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Been coming to this for over 10 years and looking forward to returning in the future. Keep up the good work team!"
Hotel El Greco
"Fabulous hotel in a great location. Shops and restaurants are all close."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Thessaloniki
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Thessaloniki on a budget can be a delightful experience, particularly during January to March when hotel prices may drop to lower prices, offering an affordable escape. It is recommended to spend at least 2 to 3 days in this culturally rich city, where you can explore key landmarks, historical sites, and celebrated cultural attractions such as museums, historical monuments, charming cafes, art galleries, and urban churches. This period provides great value for money, making it an ideal time for a budget-friendly visit.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers travellers the chance to explore Thessaloniki hotel deals by visiting the DealsOpens in a new window section, where you may discover discounted rates on hotels. For travellers seeking cheap Thessaloniki hotel deals, the Last-Minute Deals section could reveal opportunities near your travel date. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you’re more likely to see flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app helps compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you have the best information when booking your stay.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Thessaloniki hotel. For travellers seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels may offer a more personalised service and occasionally provide better value. When booking with Hotels.com, we inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a more affordable option.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually command higher rates, but thanks to Thessaloniki’s excellent public transport links, you may find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that is still well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
