This was a charming and compact city hotel. The staff were very helpful and kind. We chose the location for walkability, having one night in Paris before flying out. We were able to easily travel to the hotel from our train via the Metro, access sightseeing and amenities near the hotel, and take the RER to the airport in the morning. The room was clean and compact and the breakfast was delicious and available at 7 a.m. Would stay again!

Brief stay at the Istria. Great location - one block from Blvd. Montparnasse, twenty yards from the Raspail Métro stop. Hôtel is clean, with small rooms typical of older Paris hotels. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially when dealing with jet-lagged Americans.

My mom stayed at this hotel on a separate trip and when I found myself with a few extra days in Paris, she highly recommended this one. Great restaurants all around and prime location near the metro. Very safe and quiet and the rooms are exactly as offered. Definitely French sizing, but when in Paris, you only need a hotel room to sleep otherwise you're out exploring and having fun. Perfect spot to come back to!

It was a lovely hotel. They helped us with adjustments when the local airport cancelled the flight unexpectedly. They helped us and we appreciated it. The staff are friendly. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic really enjoyed it👌 . Don't know why we left it till the last day to have a breakfast. We'd have had one every day if we could turn back the clock. Excellent for Metro Raspail to get to the centre of Paris. Great location near Montparnasse 👍

I like the hotel location, but room 6 was not great. It was a room for handicapped (which is great for the Hotel to offer one), but the shower in the bathroom only had a shower curtain and the water just went all over the floor! Pretty dangerous to walk around the bathroom on a wet floor between the toilet & the sink! When I questioned the room, I was told I wanted a big bed?? All other rooms had large beds. Plus it’s on the 1st floor right by the entrance, not too much privacy!

Overall it was ok. The staff was nice and friendly. But, The room is tiny with very little room to move around. The bathroom and shower were even smaller. For the price it’s way over priced. We paid because we made the reservation last minute and we didn’t have very many choices. The TV was all in French with no ability to add Netflix or to cast anything so it left us with watching movies on our laptop. There’s no room for your luggage in the room. We had to remodel the room to accommodate our 2 pieces. Breakfast was 14 euros per person- it had a lot of variety so for the selection it was priced ok. Elevator was also very tiny it would only fit us 2 and our 2 pieces or luggage and no more. This room was more for 1 person 1 piece of luggage and a laptop —no more than that.

Hotel Istria is in a very convenient location. It is easy to access key attractions. Everyone who worked on reception were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and supported during my stay. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable and there was a lift to the rooms. My only recommendation to the hotel, and it is a minor one, would be to replace the soap dispensers in the room, the soap sprayed on my clothes every time I used it and there was no conditioner for your hair. Overall though, a great stay.

Extremely small shower space. Impossible to wash ourselves. Very basic breakfast with the least you can get. Even not a bottle of water in the room. You need to pay it. Crazy strong cleaning smell in the room like toxins. Wouldn’t go away even after opening window. Did not look like photos. You might be on the ground floor, a couple steps from the check in desk. There are hundreds of other hotels at the same price point that are much much nicer.

Average hotel in good location

The hotel is situated in a nice location, very near metro station and close to many nice restaurants. The room was ok, but on the minus side, I think the walls are very thin; I heard very well a dog, a baby and some couple during my stay. I also consider the room to be a little too small (and as a consequence too sparsely equipped, no wardrobe, a very small desk etc., but still with a refrigerator, which is a plus) and without a really good light. I didn't try the breakfast.

The room was extremely small and not as advertised. The sink was tiny, causing water to spill when washing, and there was dust under the bed and on the bedside table. The key policy felt unnecessary and the reasonis ridiculous, and when I asked to keep my key, the attendant asked if I was afraid they’d steal from me, extremely unprofessional. Checkout was inconvenient. No one was at the desk, we waited 6-7 min but we had to catch a train, I've been told i will get an invoice by email but I never received anything!
